View Full Version : Glasses That Fit My Fat Head!??!
Sheriff 7th November 2005, 05:02 I have a difficult time finding sunglasses that are not too tight on my temples. I would say that 8 out of 10 pair that I try on are too small. I am looking for a pair of riding glasses (tented and clear) that will fit my head without giving me a headache.:headbang :buddies :frownone
Yesterday I was at a local bike shop. ALL of their riding glasses were too small!
Any suggestions?
Preacher 7th November 2005, 05:05 The Best Biker Glasses are pretty good and as you know, I have a fat head too. After a couple of hours, they still start getting to me though.
I have been seriously considering goggles.....
Gary 7th November 2005, 05:10 I have a pretty fat head too (err I mean lots of brains like you). I wear gogles a lot. I bought a pair of Wiley-X SGI glasses that come with interchangeable bows or strap. When I bought them I thought "that strap is dumb.. I'm not gonna wear that", but I tried it and I don't think I've ever worn them with the bows.

decman 7th November 2005, 05:42 I have Wiley X SG-1 at $110
and Bobster at $40
both are great for larger heeads like mine. Both come with
interchangable inserts with clear, tinted and amber.
I like the fit of the Bobster better.
planb 7th November 2005, 06:31 If you do decide to try goggles, I've had real good luck with Airfoils...

I wear glasses, so their over the glasses goggles have been my favorite for the last couple of goggles...
Desertfox 7th November 2005, 11:19 As a fellow fat header I have found that most bike shops carry everything from XL to XXXXXL :laugh Seems most Harley riders are pretty hefty doods. Glasses and hats are a different deal. couldn't find any so I just got some clip ons for my regular glasses. Seems to work ok.
merc 7th November 2005, 14:31 bunch of 'fat heads':roflblack :roflblack
I picked up some cheapo glasses at the HD dealer a few weeks back.
They have and elastic strap and a hinge at the bridge of the nose.
They will conform to your head nicely.

Good to know that I am not the only "Wide Load" Head out there!:doh I also tell everyone it is to handle the larger brain, but my wife continues to tell me that the air pressure is just too great!!:frownone
merc: do you have a name or part number for the "cheapo" glasses you found at your HD dealer? I guess "cheapo" at a HD dealer is realtive. That means $485 vs. $500?:D
Thanks for all the other feedback! I am just a little concerned about buying glasses on-line because of this ISSUE!!
decman 7th November 2005, 16:54 Me too but I can't complain about the Bobster and at $40
it's not a bad deal. It's all I wear now.

sportsterwheelies 7th November 2005, 17:12 www.cycleshades.com they have everything even fat head glasses. the owner is really nice and will go out of his way to help you find the right pair of shades. These guys deal with bikers only so this is a common question they recieve. Email or call them and talk to Andy. You won't do any shade shopping anywhere else after dealing with thses guys try them out.
smoke 7th November 2005, 17:49 My good glasses broke one day on a ride and we stopped at the nearest stealer and I bought some googles for $17.95, obviously not HD brand. I have used them for about 8 months now and they have been great, unbeatable for the money. I will look at them tonight as I wore the FF to work today and post any info I can find other than Made in Taiwan.
Sheriff 8th November 2005, 17:30 There is a motorcycle swap meet this weekend here in Charlotte. I think I am going to wait and look around at the show before I buy anything! From all of your feedback, I think I like the Bobsters best. Looks like good quality for a reasonable price! If I don't buy anything this weekend I will most likely order the Bobsters off the internet!
