searched the threads, but unless i missed it....want to adjust primary NOT running and cold, manual says max 1/2" ok, understand that, drawing in manual appears to say this is from centerline and the max. from pushing down to pushing up is 1/2", so if you use the screwdriver method and push up and you get 1/2" would not be wrong?? and then push down and get 1/2", would be a total of 1 inch??? what am i missing here... thanks rambo

You aren't missing anything. 1/2 inch plus 1/2 inch down is twicw as much as you should have. Do rotate engine and check in several places to make sure it isn't too tight anywhere.

I've never been able to GET any play DOWN...but if you do, yes, that should be taken into consideration...
