OK...I'll start..

As most of you know my sporty has been off the road for a while now... I have most of the bits to put it back together but there seems to be a never ending string of customers jobs that get put in front of mine...

Here's a list of what's goin in it with some pics...

It started life as a '98 1200S.....

I birthed it out of the crate and drilled the baffles and rejetted as soon as I got it home..

SE mufflers went on the next weekend...

within a month of buying it it went down the strip and I came runner up at my first race meating on it...

over the next 12 months a fair bit was experimented with and I got down to 11.8's within 13 months of buying it...one of the first full street, daily transport HD's to run 11's in this part of the world...

I raced it extensively over the following years and ran it around the go kart track as well.....

It got run hard and often....

My father died in '01 and I spent a fair bit of time up with mum ... I continued to race as dad wouldn't have wanted me to quit.... I got racer of the year that year by winning the series...

I had an accident on it a year to the week after my fathers death and broke my leg badly.....

I was back racing within 6 months, while still on crutches and didn't lose a race in 3 meetings..

The black dog started to bite and I tried to keep my chin up.......I went to a bikers party a year to the month after I broke my leg and flogged the bike around the speedway track while rather inebriated....highsided it at about 80kph ..and broke a few bones....

Fixed it up and rode it around for a while longer realising it was time for a bottom end inspection.....I pulled it off the road to inspect the bottom end and decided it needed to be freshened up...and completely striped the bike to bare frame and bare motor.

So I bought the parts to take it to 88"

Unfortunately other things such as life have conspired to keep it on the back burner....it will, however get back going ...

Here's a list of what i have for it so far and some pics

'98 1200S
3 13/16" Millenium Nicasil cylinders and Huricane pistons
Andrews N9 cams
S&S roller rockers
S&S travel limiters
S&S Supreme rod set
SE heavy duty valve springs and titanium retainers
heads and valves will change as I have half a dozen sets and this will be used as a development mule
Megacycle 2-1 exhaust...this will be modified or replaced as develpment dictates
Brembo 4 spot front brakes...probably with custom rotors
Custom made fork brace
Ohlins steering dampner on custom made brackets
All engine bolts are polished 304 SS
Tank will be modified with an aircraft style filler and maybe widened and recessed for bar clearance.
Guards, mini fairing, battery cover and a few other bits are going to be double weave carbon (I have to go and buy it this week) and the fuel and oil tanks will be covered in the same carbon..
Rear guard will be made cutoff level with the bottom of the seat stays and a custom LED taillight fitted
Cases will be painted black
wheels will be powdercoated black and probably machined to highlight

looks like you'll have a brand new bike when your done.
I like that you have a definate goal and that you are going for it.
Too many times someone will say I am doing this or I am going to do that and nothing gets accomplished.
At least you have you eyes set on the horizon.
Keep going Stevo...:tour :clap

I'm doin this stuff everday for everyone else.....

Just gotta get some time to do it to my own scoot :D

I wanted a modern day XLCR ....

Knew what I wanted from the start t's just takin me a bit longer to get there than I thought...

Patience....piece by piece

Was researching big bore kits from before I got it........

thanks but they'd cost a few $$$$ to get 'em shipped over here

I've thought of the USD's but still don't mind the look of the standard forks and the S model forks are a cartridge fork anyway...... am sorta in two minds but will probably stick with the standard S forks

here's a pic of what i was going to do to mine but a customer jumped in instead

All I have is the inverted WP forks. The rest is being used on my Street Tracker. I'll take $350 plus shipping for them. The rest can easily be purchased for a good price on ebay. Buell parts are cheap. The Buell trees bolt right onto a Sportster.

so you have the forks and the tree's? you dont by chance know what the vertical length on those is and how much they weight do you? I have an 883 hugger and am semi concerned about the bike being too much taller. Plus I am trying to shave more weight off of it.
