I read an article in one of the auto magazines once where the magazine took a truck, and dynoed it with petro lubricants in the engine, tranny, and rear end, then changed all of them to synthetic and dynoed it again, and they did pick up a little bit of HP and Torque.

Presumably it was due to less friction, and although it was not the best experimental design, they did use the same truck and the same dyno.

a miniscule amount may be gained or lost....

You'll gain more from the lower viscosity than you will from the type of lubricant

That's what I was gonna say.

On a truck they were dealing with how much hp in the first place?

Let's guess at 300 hp give or take?

And some of what was being lost was in the driveline... like the rear axle.

So they changed fluids in the engine, trans, AND axle to synth and saw MAYBE a 1% gain.

You don't have a final drive, but let's assume you DID actually see a 1% gain... then you MIGHT, if accurately measurable, go from 76.00 hp to 76.76 hp.

I run Synths anyway, for other reasons, but it's not going to accomplish your goal.

these tests need to be a bit more controlled as well....

was the dino oil fresh??????

as in did they change the old dino oil out.....put in fresh stuff and test?????

and then test with the syn..

or did they test fresh syn against old dino oil....

If someone is tryin to sell something or they like soapboxing be wary.
