The only thing that the thread proved was that we share this board with people that think they are truly superior over others here because of the type of bike they ride. A bike in the same lineage as every other XL.

I have ridden bikes since I was a little kid. Grew up around Harleys, rode Jap bikes, British, German and American. I have never looked at anyones bike and thought that the rider was somehow less of a biker then me.

While I said some shitty things there, mainly cause I am surprised that people are so full of themselves they would bag on other bikers for what they ride, just to satisfy their low self esteem.

What oil loss? This is my 70 in it's last itteration before it was wrecked, 1993 I believe, it had 47k miles on it since its Last rebuild, this was after sitting in the sun on a 95F + day, after running 90mph for 2 hours to get to the bike show in mansfield. See any oil under it? nope, and the oil bag is full, I assure you. BTW, as a side note, these ironheads didn't even Have valve seals. lol

Mine was parked while still hot last fall in my livingroom over a white towel. Sat there all winter. The towel has zero oil on it!

Anything leaks sooner or later if not maintained correctly.

No, I was making a joke about my lack of mechanical know-how. I'd love to try my hand at putting something together at some point. I can't say I know enough about Ironheads to pinpoint the issues with them.
