I started the day with a quick trip to my local stealer. I decided to replace my spark plugs and, well, Paula will tell ya, I don't need a reason to go drool on a few new scoots! :)

I came home and installed the new plugs...fired up the scoot and listened to that sweet sound that always makes my day...:smoke

About that time, Paula was ready to get started on our day’s activities. She asked me if I thought it was cold enough for her to wear gloves and I replied in the affirmative (low 50's). In true "Miss Independence" fashion, she climbs on the back of the scoot...gloveless!

So, we're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wiz...oh, that's a completely different story...;)

Anyhoo, Paula has a 1:00pm appointment to get her hair permed. Now, the only thing that's unusual about this is, she will only let a lady who's shop is 35 miles away do it. Oh well, no biggy...I'll just enjoy the ride!

About 5 miles down the road, Miss Independence decides that I was right after all...she NEEDED to wear gloves! :doh I told her to stick her hands in my jacket pockets and all was then right with the world.

I spent 1.5 hours waiting on her to get the perm thing done. And, of course, it's a beauty shop so, they have only one "Man" type magazine...Field & Stream! After I had read the one article in the mag that was of any interest to me and looked at all the ads for new pick-up trucks, there wasn't anything else to do but watch Days of Our Lives on the tube...

Ok, so we finally crossed this pothole in the day and now we're back on the road to get some grub! There's a place in Batesburg SC called Shealy's BBQ. Yummy food and it's a buffet to boot! :banana We stuffed ourselves and got back on the road.

We only rode about 80 miles but, that's better than sitting at home! :tour Besides, that's about as long as Paula can stand on the back of my Sporty...

Sounds like a pretty nice day (except for the Days of Our Lives part!). Happy Veteran's Day.

My Turn...

I went to work till 10:30 am

Rode down to the river and met up with my MC and we rode in the Vet Day parade.

My left hand hurt and my bike was real hot when all was said and done. Got to be on TV! Wooohoo! Got to practice my low speed manuevers too!

Highlight of my day was watching a 30+G's "Custom" motorcycle keep locking up and shutting down due to overheating!

I know its wrong to laugh but I'm just an ass! This dude seriously made 1/2 mile before he started locking down!

Eh well it looked pretty sitting by the curb!

Adios

Happy Armistice Day!

Spent Veterans Day working, that's better than where I was at 34 years ago. Veterans Day makes me reflect just a little as my father was a wwII veteran. I believe in my heart those guys were a special generation and gave their all so we could have what we have today. There is not that many left and I heard or read that we loose about 100 of those heroes a day. My dad passed away 2 years ago and he was a proud Navy corpsman who served with the Marines in the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and was in the first landings of both campains. But now as I wear my Viet Nam Veterans ball cap around its nice to hear THANKS for all you have done. To all my brothers in arms past and present Thanks, we have made it better.
