Well, I purchased the OEM 1/4 fairing on E-Bay. I had to paint it to match, which wasn't a big deal. Went to the local Paint Dealer and got the appropriate PPG paint. Installed it today and went riding on my 05 1200 Roadster. We had 30-35mph winds today too!
I will tell you this.......I'm not in love with the looks yet, but the Fairing does a really good job of busting the wind that is usually trying to drag you off the bike.:banadanc
At 80 mph before, I was getting twitchiness from the aero and buffeting:doh ...not anymore. You can ride no handed at 80 if you want and stay on the bike. The wind is going just over the top of my helmet.
If you don't like all the buffeting and wobbles because of the aerodynamics....you'll like this thing. I think it's a little pricey....but it's doing what it's supposed to do.:clap

Since I changed my risers my bike is a lot squirlier than I like. Speed wobbles at 80 unless I get in the right position. I am coing to try to calm that with a buell fly screen once my double headlight finally arrives.

I want to see some pics too. I bet the 1/4 fairing works really good, cause my little speed screen helps at higher speeds but it just moves the air off my upper torso not my helmut. You still look over it don't you?

BWP - are your handlebars the stock ones?
Any downsides to the quarter fairing?

hey just got mine on too, I like it but the headlight is a little deep behind the thing, wish it would be flush with that window but that's my only complaint.
gets lots of looks too!! have not heard good or bad, but I think its just diffrent for a harley. Probably think its a new sportbike or somthing. :roflblack

Yes I had it on my Dyna and the other BT riders would not even look at me at a stop light :D

I can understand that. Usually, the only part of a Sportster a BT sees is the taillight....

Yep....stock bars (so far)....no real downside that I can tell other than more stuff to keep bugs off of!:D

I got that too with my 1200R. The windscreen unscrews and can be raised about another 1-1/2" by rotating the rubber support tabs. Ten seconds off and about fifteen seconds on, with the trick docking clamps. I had sort of wanted a bikini fairing, but I'll suffer.

I love the quarter-fairing. I've always hated the look of windshields, but you can't argue with their function(at least on long rides). I'd be more apt to like this in town.
