Looking to get rocker cover powder coated and just wanted to know if anyone out there had had this done and how much it cost. I need a new cover anyway so I thought I would go with powdercoat gloss black and then think about doing that to the rest of my covers. So, how much???????????????

That's gonna look great ralphie. I'm fast becoming a fan of the black look with minimal chrome.

I have a cracked cover so I have to do something anyway. I might just paint them with the green and leave the center ring chrome but I like the black powdercoat look alot plus it is easier to keep clean.

That would look really nice on your bike Ralph. I've been thinking of doing it the other way around with the center ring powder coated black as my bike is black and I have black cylinders and heads.

Powerder coating in my neighborhood is pretty reasonable. I can get this done for around 25 dollars.

The only thing I've gotten a quote on so far has been my Wheels!!
One place quoted $150.00 and another $100.00 for both wheels!!
I would think that rocker covers shouldn't be but about $50.00, Maybe!!! :D

I would go on some of the paint sites if your gonna flat black somethin. There are products out there for clear counting that seal the paint without the gloss finnish. You should find out what to use before just flat blacking because some paints are not impervious to water and could cause rust to eventually to come through. Now back to the original question. Has anyone had rocker covers powdercoated? How much did it cost? Did you do the prep to reduce cost?

google it up once but I think eastwood sells a powder coating kit that you can use at home for stuff that will fit in your oven (get your ol'ladys permission first)

I'll save ya the search (http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=412&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C458%2C459%2C460&KickerID=68&KICKER) right around $100 and you can use it over and over and over again

You're probably looking at less than $50.00. There's a place locally here that does powdercoating that is very reasonable. They did my frame in black for $150 incl. prep. If your covers are chrome, you will have to have the chrome removed first by a chrome shop which could get expensive. Lets see em when your done!!

I just got a set of covers from ebay for 20 bucks thanks to a person not advertising the item in the right category. I will get the top and the bottom cover powder coated black and let you guys know what they cost. I will used my chrome center rings to make it look unique. Can't wait to get it done.
