I'm having Lepera customize a Senora Regal Plush seat for me, and I'm wondering if anyone else has gone this route with them? I've heard good things (generally) about their stock seats, but I've not seen anything anywhere about having custom work done. My aim is to get as low and as up front as I can get. They had me sit on my bike exactly where I'd like to be and measure from the forward point to the end of my butt. Then the plan is they'll make something up (without the cover) and they'll send it to me to try. If all is well I'll send it back and they'll cover it. If more modifications are needed, it will be more $ (of course - more labor). What they are suggesting is a narrower nose, less seat padding than the stock, and a closer, slightly higher back to keep me from moving backwards too much. Does this sound reasonable to you more experienced folks? It's costing about $400 bucks, so I don't want to screw it up if I can help it.

I have to say the woman I spoke with from Lepera was very nice, and very helpful. So far they have been very pleasant to deal with.

Thanks guys!

For a Lepera, the Bare Bones gets you the lowest and puts you forward. Got mine on e-bay for about $200(with gel). However, it is not a touring seat.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v498/seanile/100_0080.jpg

That sounds like the right way to go to me. All I am concerned with is the removal of the padding....that was one of the problems I had with my stocker. I needed a low seat....but not at the expense of such discomfort. You might want to really make sure there is enough padding for comfort, especially with that much money involved.

Just wondering how it worked out? I was thinking of sending my LePera back and having them customise it for me since I am 6'2" and would love to sit back another 3-4".........
