in the Michigan cold, I wear carhart jacket and pants. looking at getting heated gerbing socks and either glove liners or gloves. I have insulated gloves and boots but inreal cold weather they're not enough to keep me warm.full face with flip up front HJC helmet.

I have a heavy duty armored HD leather jacket---it really cuts the wind. I wear silk thermals under jeans, and then just layer up with shirts under the jacket. I need better gloves, my summer leather ones are too thin for really cold weather....

I drive my car. Otherwise I ware a turtleneck, northface pile pullover, And a gortex jacket that can have all the airgaps sinched up. I have some swedish bike gloves for winter riding and the most important is the Matterhorn gortex boots. Never had cold feet in those. A windshield is a must and full face helmet is a nice addition as well.

In europe the bikers use the equivalent of the turbines used in Saudi to wrap around the neck and face. They work great and store easily also. The best part is they are just bulky enough to cut the updraft of cold air into the helmet.

Ya - I use to where a pair of the insulated Carhart Bibs. But now I use FirstGear HT Overpants with the zip in liner. These are water proof in the rain where as the Carhart wasn't. I use a yellow Fisrt Gear rain jacket over my leather jacket as an additional wind breaker. I have HD branded Gerbing gloves that I use when the temperture dips below 40. And for boots I have a pair of Cabella's 400 weight insulated leather boots. I stay pretty warm. I have ridden as cold at 18 deg F without getting cold at all. Where about in Michigan are you? I am in the Pinckney area. Commute to Ann Arbor everyday.
