i put a chin spoiler on my vivid black 06 1200r.looks vunerable down there also looks cool anyone picking up rock chips.i thought about that 3M clear stuff for protection but if no one is having any problems i might skip it.so far ive gotten a little road tar and after testing my top speed had rubber film and filings from front tire, alot of compliments tho. currently i am bidding on a quarter fairing but i kinda like the look of the visor tho ,they look like they were made for each other i know the 1/4 fairing is more effective but the stylin doesnt quite fit.also i mounted my alarm in the chin spoiler thinking of maybe relocating the horn in there too.thanks for your input and suggestions

I've got the chin spoiler and headlight visor, but haven't painted them yet. They do look good on the bike.
I'm waiting for a sport front fender to arrive (should be here in about 3 days) and then I'm going to get the fender, visor, chin spoiler, and side panels all painted together.
Cheers,
Brett

I've had a chin-spoiler on my 1200C since I bought it in Jan 2004. I 'm noticing a few minor chipmarks, but nothing a good polish can't take care of. Obiously depends greatly on the roads you'll be riding, & the colour of the bike. (We know black is the fastest, but unfortunately shows scratches/ chips the fastest too..:p ) Go for it, I get a lot of compliments on mine still.

Hey nice looks of the spoiler. I think may have to get one. I like the chrome that hd makes. but about the nicks and stuff. its better to have that rock etc stop at the spolier than on the engine case!!! I think just about every sport bike has some kind of chin spoiler setup. I know Buell makes there's pretty dominant. have never seen one very banged up though.

I've had my chin spoiler since feb 02' and have had no problems at all w/ chips. I even extended my 2000's chin spoiler by an extra 2.5 inches in length to my spoiler and still no problems. The spoiler for the newer sporties looks sweet as hell, go for it.

I have the chin spoiler and headlight fairing on my '05 1200R. No probs with chips or anything else down there. Problem with the fairing tho is I can't access the odometer reset switch on the back of the speedo. So, I'm stopping about every 100-125 miles for fuel. I have those deer whistle things mounted on my chin spoiler, towards the back, and they blend right in.

I've had no problem with the spoiler but it does catch oil on oil filter changes. Makes people think the Harley is leaking oil for a few days.
