I was thinking on cutting my seat rails, on my 03 sporty, And fitting a softail seat on it. So I sit "in" the bike,,not on it.
I know I can go with a round oil bag,
just uncertain where I can stuff the battery and electrics?...no smart remarks there please!...LOL
Anyone try this yet?

ya better check with rottenralph before you go changing oil tanks. Otherwise I don't see any problems with the seat mods.

Ah-ow....good thing I didn't start on this....I thought a oil bag was just universal....ugh!!

no it isn't. I told you to check with him cuz it cost him an engine rebuild. Look for him and PM him or just holler. He'll be in soon.

Try a Corbin seat it'll sit you lower on the Bike!!! :D

Wow,,,that is much lower than mine...Your whole bike seems lower???

If ya gonna go the extent of modifying frame then an oil tank shouldn't be a problem.... if it is then I'd suggest the frame modifications are maybe a bit beyond what ya should be playin with...
One of the small Stainless Steel port barrells ya see in novelty shops that sell stuff for ya bar would be a good donor for an oil tank.
If ya could get one big enough to go the full width and cut the back out of it and fill it back in with SS sheet for a batery box..
Oil lines arn't a problem.... I can guide ya thru that bit..
Now remember ya heard it here first ;)

Wow, thanks!....I truly want to make it a bit different. Last year, I went crazy with the chrome, now I need to make it mine, if that made any sense.
I wanted to lower the butt end, but every thing I see says..."not for cutsom models"

just let it get old......seems to work for most females I know........the back end gets lower and lower and lowerArthur Davidson, of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Corporation died and went to Heaven. At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur, "Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is you can hang out with anyone you want in heaven".
Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, "I want to hang out with God." St. Peter took Arthur to the throne room, and introduced him to God.
Arthur then asked God, "Hey, aren't you the inventor of woman?" God said, "Oh, yes." "Well," said Arthur, "professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention:
1. There is too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusion.
2. It chatters constantly at high speeds.
3. Most of the rear ends are too soft and wobble too much.
4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust, and finally,
5. The maintenance costs are outrageous."
"Hmmm, you may have some good points there," replied God, "hold on." God went to his celestial Super Computer, typed in a few words and waited for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.
"Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed," God said to Arthur, "but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention then yours".

What willprevale meant was, I put a newer oil tank on my 93 and it never oiled the motor when I ran itThe lines were dif. and it had less connections so I put a added a vent line to it. I don't know if the system needed to be primed or what I just know it cost me a rebuild. I couldn't even get oil to run out of the tank when I removed the hoses. I put a 93 tank back on and everything worked fine. Stevo is the man, if he says it works then it will.
