I saw them on a bike exactly like mine over the weekend and they looked and sounded great. XLinAL 17th November 2004, 01:56 I have them on my 01 883>1200C. I love them. Look cool. Alot different than the tapered duals alot of folks have. Sound great. I didn't get the heat shields because they were an additional $100+. Only thing to watch out for, they grind fairly easily if you are into taking the twisties hard (at leat on the 01's, I don't know about the clearance on the 04's). Sam 18th November 2004, 04:46 I have a set on my bike, and I love 'em. Install was no big hassle. If you like the look and sound of them, I say go for it! 883Hugger 22nd November 2004, 22:34 How bad is the blueing on the pipes? Will the heat shields cover it or does it go beyond the heat shields? XLinAL 22nd November 2004, 23:19 883 Hugger, Like I said, I didn't get the heat shields cuz of $. My pipes aren't blue, they're actually a nice golden color that compliments my yellow bike :p . the pipes are a three step pipe and the "bluing" doesn't go past the first step. I don't know how much the shields cover, but I would think they would at least go to the first step and cover any discoloration. 883Hugger 28th November 2004, 21:52 Thanks for the tip XLinAL. I will take that into consideration as I decide on my new exhaust. I am either looking at the Bassanis or Hard Krome S-Bends. Luckymic 28th November 2004, 23:35 XLinLA is there anyway you can post some pic's from different angles of your bike. I've only been able to see one pic of a sporty with the pro street pipes. I'm serously considering buying a set. I'm just not totally sure yet. Thanks XLinAL 29th November 2004, 03:15 Here are a few bad pics of the pipes. http://image18.webshots.com/19/8/76/94/223787694Pnvlre_ph.jpg http://image22.webshots.com/22/9/32/57/223793257aofXhp_ph.jpg http://image22.webshots.com/22/9/58/84/223795884tqAUlC_ph.jpg Ignore the finger in the last pic. :shhhh alcohol and cameras don't mix :frownthre Luckymic 29th November 2004, 05:12 Thanks for the pic's. Hope you dont mind me asking where you got'em and how much they set you back. Sam 29th November 2004, 05:49 http://www.xlforum.net/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/10824/Harley2.2.jpg I got mine about a year and a half ago for about $340 from J&P Cycles. They were brand new in that pic. SkippyRay 29th November 2004, 15:32 All I have a set of these that i am going to let go. They do have a scrap on the underside of the outside pipe. You can not see it mounted on the bike. I can take pictures of it to any interested. They run around 400 bucks new, ill sell these for 275. PM me to let me know if you are interested. I also have a set of Monster Thunder Baffles in them if you want them the price goes up. Thinking about pputting them back in the new ones but not sure how to tune a Mikuni flatslide carb yet. The dealer put a new set of these on my bike after the accident. These were ok no need to change but thank God for insurance companies that are Harley friendly (Thanks Uncle Sam). I think the scrape on the bottom is the reason. But :shhhh don't tell anyone it happened on a high speed low turn. :tour . I have a crap load of other stuff as well. 2 more sets of pipes ( 2-2, 2-1). SE slipon original. Just pm if interested. These pipes rock no doubt. They do turn yellowish fast. Put new ones on, dealer/mech took bike out a few times as it was being worked on. Now they are yellowish at top where they enter heads, they dont look bad at all. Have fun |
