No, it's means the tech is savy.........anytime Harley-Davidson is shown to be upside down, it means "!!!!!! the Factory". It goes way back in the HD legend books............I wear a FTF patch on my vest..........it reminds us of the days when HD bikes were sh*t...............

If you think "$@#*!$@#*!$@#*!$@#*! THE FACTORY!", maybe you should ride something else. I've been in the motor vehicle repair buisness for 30 years, and H-D cares more than most (I mean H-D, not AMF). Liam

Well, I had nothing to do with the plate being upside down and had no idea what it meant... I think I did the upside down plate thing when I took my old plate off. I needed it to take to the DMV so I could pick up my personalized plate---"RD Chick"

Whoahhhh....settle down:doh been ridin HD for 20 yrs and currently ride an AMF....have no prob's with either, however a few bad experiences with dealers ( notice I did'nt say stealer ) but that's a different story

I'm sorry RC, I wasn't acussing you of inverting the plate frame, I know you're not that way. I am just tired of these guys talking about how they worship their Sportsters, and then they dis the manufacturer and the poor bastards (like me) who work at the dealers. I am not a "stealer". I share your passion! I am on your side! Liam

Didn't say anything about the tech's in the repair shops.....other than this tech may be savy about the FTF thing...........I was avoiding the oil leaks left by Harleys, dodging the falling off parts from them, and listening to the bitches of my Harley compatriots before you were 9 years old. The FTF patch has been around a long time, and if you followed the growth and development of HD over time, you'd find that it's mainly in the repair shops were most of the strides and modifications that make it the bike it is today took place. I spend a lot of time at the local dealer's shop, and often hear the guys complain about what shows up from the factory........loose fenders, handlebars misaligned or loose, wrong seats, loose wheels, missing belts, missing electrical connections, etc. The factory has a group of employees whose only function is to make sure the bikes leave there with everything tight and right.................obviously someone doesn't do their job...............when they took my Heritage out of the crate.........and I was there...........the handlebars were flopped down and the bolts 3/4s loose.........that didn't happen during shipping. Maybe your dealership is the exception and everything shipped there is perfect. And don't get me started about opening up a factory sealed special ordered parts box and finding the wrong part inside. Today HD makes a good bike.......but I've also owned and ridden Triumphs and Hondas, and they too make a good bike. So swear and cuss if you want, but also take the time to read through almost three years of posted threads on this forum, to read about the faults and repairs a number of folks have had to deal with. Us old timers who put on tens of thousands of miles a year in the saddle, and do much if not all of our own wrenching, have different feelings than you on this subject.

My apologies to RC for the highjack of this thread.

First off, RC the bike is looking great! Keep the pics coming. Now, since we are on the topic of FTF someone tell me if I'm wrong. I thought FTF deals more with the people making the decisions. The management and not the people assembling the bike. I thought it was because HD wouldn't back those people that chopped and bobbed their bike. If you made any mods to your bike other than exhaust then you can't call it a Harley, you can't sell it as a Harley and they will make if difficult to even register it as a Harley (that one never made since to me since the VIN still starts with 1HD).

For the most part you are right....................but among many of us with our feet on the pegs it goes beyond simply the thinking of management, but right down to the factory floor............you see......... and I say this after having worked a good number of years on the shop floor.........the attitude of management has significant impact upon the attitude of employees,............in escence, if management doesn't care, why should the employee...........if management takes a hostile stance, then too will those directly in the chain below...........

Lookin good RC...lookin good ..... I like white but it doesn't suit me..... I prefer to turn it to the dark side :D

I have no particular problem with the company as such....it's no worse than any other marketing company

But HOG..well..another story.. I wear my HOG club badge upside down....

Dar ..... the new bikes are normally shipped with the handlebars down and the clamps just nipped..depending on the model..
that's part of birthing it....pull the cardoard off the top, straighten and tighten the bars....
Then pull it off the crate and go over it as part of the pre delivery

You can imagine how many things are loose by the time we get 'em over here..;)

Actually though, if you think about it... FTF is by its very nature a rather self-defeating attitude and as so more than a bit contradictory.

Bottom line, if NOT for the factory, you'd still be riding Honda or Triumph or ?????????

So to say FTF, yet continue to ride a bike that without said factory you could not ride is rather perplexing....

AWESOME! VERY nicely put together - nothings looks overdone even though it's definitely over the top... Noticed you still have passenger pegs - gonna have a pillion option? Also maybe chrome the enrichener knob (maybe an etched "RC" version!)? GREAT JOB and congrats!!

Betcha can't wait to stretch 'er legs on Sat!

Looks good Rene. Liked what you had before but now you've really done it. We won't be able to keep Moker from trying to trade bikes w/ you LOL.
S'posed to rain Friday but nice on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing it in person. The rest of us will have to bring our cameras to take pictures of your new bike......who am I kidding, pictures of you on your new bike. This bunch doesn't want to see us they want the "Road Chick and her Bad Motor Scooter"
Really looking forward to the ride Saturday, breathe deep and the day will go by quickly.

It seems that Moker and myself are going to be busy Saturday taking pictures of RC on her new ride. No complaints here, it will be an honor. Just hope the rest of the riders don't mind us pulling over and shooting her flying by. I don't think the rest of you will mind, seeing all of the replys to her posts on the bike.

looks bitchin , that white frame does.
Now you need to
Paint the tank in the design of the 2006 35th anniversary Superglide. White tank, red and blue stripes , H-D decal in center
Remove the license plate holder from the fender and mount it on the lower left shock bolt
Obtain a smaller tailight-brake light cover, the stock one is too big
Install a 3 degree triple tree (you will never notice the difference in handling). it will eliminate that crunched look or a 5 degree tree with a 2" fork extension. now your looking like a dyna
oh yeah-cut that front fender back about 4 - 5 inches
now we're talkin

Why would she want it to look like a Dyna with stock Superglide paint?

No, it's means the tech is savy.........anytime Harley-Davidson is shown to be upside down, it means "!!!!!! the Factory". It goes way back in the HD legend books............I wear a FTF patch on my vest..........it reminds us of the days when HD bikes were sh*t...............
Damn...I wasnt going to say anything. that is correct. Thanks.
