Howdy all.
I’m looking for information on putting a springer front end on an 04XL1200C.
Anyone do this?
Pictures?
Vendors?
I’m real dumb ass on this stuff.
Best regards,

i've looked into it my self, here is what I have found:
as far as forks, there are only a couple of choices for a narrow setup and this site has them:
search on the page for sportster and you will see the two forks.

Here are a couple pics I have found when looking. Everyone agrees it will affect handleing, so be prepared for that. There are plenty of posts on the list that go into that, prolly a few posts here, maybe on the old forum.

I've looked into it quite a bit. Everything i've seen sez they fit up to 2003. I'm not sure if the Factory changed the neck on the new frames or not. But I'd like to know. I E-mailed Paughco regarding if they had a fit, but no response yet. DNA makes springers a great price. ( they are what Flyrite choppers use) If you find anything out let us know.

That's what I want to do, go with a black and chrome springer setup.

Well, I'm still thinking about this.
The more I think, the more confused I get.
Here's where I'm at:
I want to keep the stock front wheel/fender and brake...............is this possible?
I want to keep the stock riser and spedo (2004XL1200C)........is this possible?
Would that look stoopid?
Stock length?
3" over stock?
What would that do to the trail calculation.
These front ends ain't cheap, but this is a sacrifice I am willing to make....for this forum...for educational purposes only.
Ya understand.

One thing that I'd also like to know is how to calculate trail on a springer. I've been lookinga at the new Softail springer models, and noticed that they have about a 32* neck rake and a 5.3" trail. The Softail Standard has a 32* rake and a 5.0" trail. The Springer Classic has a 32* neck rake and a 6.3" trail...can someone do the math???
