I just installed a set of progressive 416 air shocks on my '05 sportster and wanted to say a few things about them. First of all you got to like the looks of them, just so happens i do. I doubt everybody will like the looks of them. There different looking thats for sure. There pretty fat about 2, and a half inches in diameter at the top 2/3rds and the bottom 1/3 is rubber covered. Kinda old style and heavy duty looking maybe thats what i like about the looks. But theres more than looks about these shocks i like. First my sportster is a standard and did'nt come with rear footpegs. I just fitted rearpegs and pillion pad and found out pretty fast the stock shocks don't cut it for two up riding! Thats one reason i tried these air shocks. You can run from 0 psi to 70 psi, so no more bottoming out! They also ride great solo or two up. I also got the 12, and a half inch shocks. Thats 3/4 of an inch shorter than the 13, and a 1/4 inch stock shocks. The 3/4 inch drop is just right for me, i like the lower feeling but i don't lose much ground clearence. I'am running 10 psi now and that feels real good solo. I've had the progressive 418's before and these 416's ride every bit as smooth. As for as looks i think there more suited for a bobber look and thats if you like the heavy duty look. And again they do ride great!:tour
