Well after taking so long to get pix i finally stopped and took a few.

The back story: 2 months after i bought my 05 883c i was backed over by a firetruck while sitting at a stop sign.
The driver heard a call over his radio for someone who was DOA of natural causes. He decided to cruise by and check it out.( even tho there was no fire and no call for a fire truck)
Rather than pulling thru the stop sign and circling the block he puts the truck in reverse and starts backing up to the scene.
I heard the back up beeper and was powerless to do much other than watch this massive truck run me over. ( the road was at a slight down grade so there was no backing up for the bike.)

It destroyed my forks tire rim bars controls ....my entire front end from gas tank forward.
so when i get the insurance check i set about really customizing the 2 month old sporty, here is pix of my bike so far.

Added 5 deg more rake, pro one wide glide 41mm forks, crome disk brake housing with crome disk, krome werks mini apes, all crome controls and mirrors, braided cables and brake lines, 80 twisted spoke 21 in. front rim, stock wide glide fender with skull painted to match my last 2 bikes and tattoo, low profile gas cap, hypercharger, Jackson guitars logo graphic on the side plate, and the last of my insurance cash spent on the helix touring jacket.

New when I 1st got it

Thanks TC,
I did all the work myself, modifying the neck to accept the hidden stem trees, wiring, researching ordering and assembly.
I have plans to change the frame to an atlas softail later as well.

Chopper: No.1 the bike looks great, did you do the work yourself??
Good job!!
No.2........Let me get this straight, you were backed over by a fire truck, and all you got was an insurance check??
Man,normally I`m not one to encourage litigation, but personally I`d have sued the Raincoats off them!!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. It means so much to know ppl like what i have done to the bike even if the dealer service dept. dont like it.

Whispanic, I will have to look up what length cables i used to be certain but i think it was around 58 inches. I have it wrote down at the shop and will look for ya.

Eskiv, i went with 2 in. over stock tubes

Dooley, I am a fabricator by trade and have cut and built choppers most of my life...starting with my old 20 in bicycles :smoke
As for sueing... it took 3 city cops 2 county cops and a state trooper to keep me off the fire truck driver. But it being a city offical the insurance said they would sue for damages but ya just cant fight city hall. On a good note i got to do something that i really wanted to do to my bike and didnt have to pay for it.
I even thought about putting " support ya local fire dept" on the back side of the front fender :roflblack

your bike looks really cool,I like it,Im not clear on the sue thing, are you saying that the city would sue you for damages? for what damages?

My insurance investigated the claim and found the city to be at fault so they cut me a check for repairs to my bike, then sued the city to recover their loss.

Chopper45HD, I notice you have no front turn signals. Do the rear still function as they normally would and was there any thing you did to make them work as they would have. Thanks.
