I think if you would have put Vonage in your headline you may get more results

Vonage is worthless to me.
If I call from my home phone, I only pay .05 a minute for LD and that is "if" I use it.
Generally I use my cell phone for LD.
At Vonage, $30 a month charge (charged, even if I didn't use it) works out to 10 hours of LD calls from my land-line.
Certainly not a deal and my land-line isn't dependant on the internet working.

I've been using Vonage for about 2 years. I pay about $17/month including tax for 500 minutes, which is more than enough for me. It is by far the cheapest phone service. I do an automatic credit card payment, so it's one of those use and forget type of services.
There are a few problems though. When your internet goes down, so does the phone. Not a problem if you have a cell phone. If you are downloading a large file, sometimes the phone breaks up a little. Caller ID isn't that good. 911 is allegedly a problem, but I don't know since I've never had to dial 911.
All in all I'm very satisified with it. I've looked at Time Warner and ATT, but they are more expensive.

I use it here in Germany and have no complaints. Sure beats the heck out of International Log Distance rates since I now have a US Phone number in Germany.
I don't think Deutsche Telekom likes it that much though.

I have it also, and no problems. Even if the computer is down it will forward calls to another phone e.g. cell phone, if you have one.
Best Regards,
Norm

I've used Vonage for the past couple of years too. The Vonage service itself has worked flawlessly for me, and it's about as cheap as you can get. If you have a flaky internet provider and rely on your phone a lot, I would think twice about it though. I happen to have a very reliable provider so it's been all around great for me.

No need for home phone... just use your cell and save the money.

I've had Vonage for a couple of years now. No complaints. I have the $15/month plan for 500 minutes (which I never use all of). My Internet connection (Comcast Cable) is pretty reliable, so that's not an issue for me. I experience no problems using the Internet (downloading, etc) and talking on the phone. The calls sound really good.
I also use their "SimulRing" feature which is pretty cool (for a geek like me anyway). When you call my Vonage number it rings both my home number and my cell number, and I answer either one. I only need to give out one number and I'm always available.

I've had Vonage for 2+ years and it's great. I have 2 lines, 1 for work and 1 for home. I like the voicemail translation to email/text message feature, the simutaineous ring...I have my office phone ring my cell phone too. Only have to give out my Vonage number to customers.
If your Internet provider sucks, your Vonage service will suck. If your Internet provider is great, then you'll have great phone service......
With teenaged daughters, we use 1000's of minutes each month....3 way calling etc all works great.
