View Full Version : Thank You All!!!!
RoadChick 1st December 2005, 20:11 I want to tell you all that I am very very appreciative of
all of the help, suggestions, ideas, ect., that you have given
me over the past month or two... :urock :xlrocks :dankesaig
Could you help me think of something to give the
three guys at the dealer for doing a FANTASTIC job
and putting up with my As:censor everyday...????
Moker 1st December 2005, 20:14 give them a picture of me!!!! :D

Kev M 1st December 2005, 20:15 Case of Beer!

SixMilesFromHell 1st December 2005, 20:16 Offer to buy them lunch, food is always appreciated.
And BTW, your bike looks great. Took a lot of courage to paint that frame white. It sure looks good.
xena 1st December 2005, 20:22 I think they would appreciate anything you gave them just for the fact that I'm sure not all of their customers are as thoughtful as you obviously are....not everybody drinks so I wouldn't give alcohol unless you absolutely know for a fact they do drink and what they each like.....
I don't know how much you have in mind to spend, but a gift cert. to a cool eatery in the area could be great this time of year. Maybe you could also throw in a good word to their immediate supervisor.
Hope the next pic we see is of you cruising past on your ride!

OK...
BEER and A PIZZA!
:D
kmorris913 1st December 2005, 20:26 I don't think you can go wrong with ordering pizza for them and delivering it. :)
Moker 1st December 2005, 20:30 everyone's a comedian...http://www.moker.us/pic/twak.gif
;)
CntryFun 1st December 2005, 20:31 Give them a piece of.... oh.. umm, nevermind. I think that's my wishful thinking kickin' in again.:smoke
skratch 1st December 2005, 20:32 i think a mixture of a couple of things here. beer and soda (would you want your mech working on your bike after drinking a few beers?), and especially a good word to their super. that always means a lot.
and to echo everyone else, the bike looks great.
Moker 1st December 2005, 20:33 no offense, but no way in heck i'd order pizza for them, and have it delivered.
there's too many free-loaders when you do something like that.
If I'm satisfied with a job, and know the guys went out of their way, and put in some extra effort, I'll try and find a gift where they get their choice of what they want. That usually means some type of gift certificate, that way there are no free-loaders.
merc 1st December 2005, 20:51 I'll second the gift certificate idea. (or is that thirds?)
hey a 10 or 20 dollar gift certificate to a 99 restraunt or something similar is always welcomed

What type of new age pussy Harley wrench can't defend his own gawd-damned pizza from free-loaders??????
If true, it's a STRANGE new world... :frownthre
Darhawk 1st December 2005, 20:52 ........Hope the next pic we see is of you cruising past on your ride!.....
in the nude of course.................
You'd be amazed what a simple hug and kiss would do for these guys.........pizzas and beer are easily forgotten........and flushed down the toilet...........but I bet, they'd remember that hug and kiss for many years to come, and most assuredly, at every followup visit you make to the shop.............

DITTO
Do they ride?
Bike nights in town?
Food or product gift certs are pretty good too.
Make sure to send a Thank You card to the Dealer management to.
It gives them ammo for a raise later on.
Also send one the MOCO it helps with their Bar and Shield status.
Kev M 1st December 2005, 21:13 Ya know, all this "gift certificate" talk, must be some sorta weird left-coast thing.
Back here on the RIGHT coast, a gift certificate mostly just says I'm too frickin' lazy to figure out what someone would really like and/or you REALLY want them to know exactly how much you spent on them...
both rather uncouth
Scooter_Trash 1st December 2005, 21:21 I'd go the gift certificate route to a good restaurant. I know I like them better than actual gifts.
cantolina 1st December 2005, 21:23 Get a 12 pack and chinese for lunch, and deliver it in your new vest....
RoadChick 1st December 2005, 21:28 I called the dealer to leave a message for the guy helping me out and asked
the guy on the phone (Everyone at the dealer knows me by name) suggested
I buy gift cards from "F Street" was he serious?????

It gives the person the opportunity to take their significant other out on the town at the expence of someone else.
Lazy? Uncouth?
It can be impossible to find out what they like or need.
Gift cert is OK. IMO

Somehow I really doubt they minded putting up with you everyday. Just too nice and too good lookin' for that. But to thank them anyway, you bringing them lunch one day and having it with them, thanking them afterwards would probably ensure you many years of good service. If they stick around.
And ditto on the bike, it rocks!

around the seventh page... New pics of the bike...:)

I dunno about you, but when I take my significant other out on the town it's a RARE night if we ONLY drop $100...
so $20 isn't even gonna buy us a round of drinks...
(for the record, I'm not saying it IS necessarily Lazy or Uncouth, but COULD BE PERCEIVED that way... depends on the person I guess... althougth honestly, taking the time to do anything is much more than thanks than they normally receive and I'm sure it would be perceived well... I'm just offering potentially contrasting points of view).
xena 1st December 2005, 21:41 Please people. Offer suggestions but putting down what others have suggested is NOT cool and can turn things into a fight very quickly. Not a topic to debate here. Everyones suggestions are good so far so lets not turn it into a pissfest. Thanks!

Yes, I agree, I do appreciate the suggestions but everyone has different
views and they are not always going to be the same.....
Thanks Xena!

Darhawk 1st December 2005, 21:45 Oh................one thing to consider...........ride the bike before thanking them, as you may have other thoughts if it doesn't perform to your expectation.............

Yeah, but if she thanks them first, they will fall all over themselves to fix whatever ain't right! ;)

I'm NOT putting down other people's suggestions... I've JUST given another point of view of how someone on the receiving end MIGHT perceive them.
jeezzz :frownthre
RC... sorry if you or anyone else is misconstruing that. You might notice I did specifically say that in my last post, that I was just trying to give an alternate point of view and that, more importantly, they'd probably appreciate ANY gesture as it is more than they normally would get.
Sorry for trying participating in the converstation then...
:frownone
santansporty 1st December 2005, 21:57 Boxes of candy would give the guys the opportunity to gift someone else if they choose... and in doing so will allow them to feel good about themselves... even though they didn't think of it first.... ;- )

Hey, I did not want to make you feel bad... Geez, I do appreciate your view and you are right you did not put anyone down, you were just giving your perspective.... Sorry......;)

I like that idea, more than one person feels good about the gift...:) :)
Kev M 1st December 2005, 22:04 you are right you did not put anyone down, you were just giving your perspective.... Sorry......;)
Tell Xena that... she seems to think me incapable of doing so without starting a "pissing match"
Either way, it's all good.
RC, kudos to you for wanting to express your thanks and make them feel that way. As a former tech, I'll tell you it's RARE...

Hmmm??? I am surprised you guys missed this one....:roflblack
AZFlyingDiver 1st December 2005, 22:15 F Street - SD's notorious adult toy store?! (don't ask...)
Obviously, the boys are into toys - maybe a cert. to Toys R Us instead!
Seriously, though, I think they'd appreciate a personal thanks, a request for a group pic with you and them and the bike that they can hang on their shop hall of fame, a letter/card to the dealer and the MoCo (as has been suggested)... Also, maybe cheesy, but certainly thoughful, how about a bell personally picked out by you for each one of the three?
Darhawk 1st December 2005, 22:16 Hmmm??? I am surprised you guys missed this one....:roflblack
Didn't miss it.................just didn't know how to appropriately respond if "F Street" is what I think it is..................I can get into enough trouble here without seeking it...........:roflblack

:wtf I would hope he wasnt... unless this dealer is in San Francisco???:hidechai
carl2124 2nd December 2005, 01:57 Take them out for dinner....:)
jamman 2nd December 2005, 02:02 I think a heartfelt, thank you would suffice, You already paid them... A note to thier superiors, That way it will go in thier file... And hug would be a bonus..
relayer4u 2nd December 2005, 03:27 My suggestion would be give each of them a Benjamin or Grant if you can swing it, especially if you really bugged the crap out of them every day!
Nothing tells an employee that :urock more than some extra spending loot!
RoadChick 2nd December 2005, 17:26 I took pics with the guys that really helped me out and gave one guy a
great big hug... He did a great job with the insurance adjustor and with helping me get the bike done fast...
I am still up in the air about the gifts. I am going to do something today, thanks for all of the suggestions... I think I am leaning toward the gift cards since that is an acceptable thing on the LEFT---Coast.
That will give them a lot more options and they can get something they
really want.

Left Coast notwithstanding, I overheard on CNN today that gift cards rank real high (3rd, in fact) on people's holiday wish lists - sounds like you won't go wrong. Personally, I like it when I get Lowe's or Home Depot cards - probably spend as much time there as I do cruisin' the net or the dealer for Sporty stuff! No matter what you do, I'm sure it'll be mucho appreciated!!
RoadChick 3rd December 2005, 01:47 I stopped by the dealer at lunch today and gave the guys thank you cards, and some cash. I thought that was best, so they could use the money
whereever they want to use it.
Only one guy was at the dealer, the tech, and he smiled and smiled. I think he was shocked that I came by to say thanks....
I also gave the general manager a card with a note recognizing the
individuals that had helped me..
Thanks for your suggestions...!!!
AZFlyingDiver 3rd December 2005, 02:13 Ya done good!
Ranger Bob 10th February 2007, 03:49 Beer & pizza good for me. I'm easy, but not a pushover. :D
FWIW, a written (typed, printed-out) letter of appreciation/commendation sent to the president of the company goes a long ways. Gets put in his 'permanent record'.
