The white frame, oil cover, etc. are way cool.

Hey, are those the Buckshot Billet chrome covers on your air cleaner and timer covers? I'm thinking about those for my '05 1200c. I've got the Road Winder mag wheels, which have similar "buckshot" dimples, so I think the Buckshot covers would match.

Beautiful bike. The frame really sets it apart. Ride safe.

The whole time I was riding I kept thinking about the loud pipes, and HOPING
that I do not see a cop.

So, I go into Starbucks and lo and behold, the CA CPA officers are having
a meeting.. :doh I waited until they all left because my bike is REALLY FRIGGIN LOUD.....

Any suggestions on what to say or do if I get pulled over for the loud pipes???

Do you have baffles already installed in your pipes? If you do check around and you can find some quiter baffles are have some made. I kinda like my pipes inbetween loud and quite, it's not very much fun cruising around town if your worried about the man all the time. PS your bike looks killer!

No baffles for my pipes, they do not have any and they can not put any on. I asked the guys at the dealer already and they pretty much told me that I am screwed if I get pulled over.. :(

Bike looks great. About the pipes, I was always afraid that I would be puleed over when I first put my pipes on, then I got used to them and the local LEO doesn't even look my way. Biggest thing is don't go around "blipping" them and you probably won't have too much problems. Did you keep your stock pipes? I kept mine just in case I did get a ticket and had to put them back on to get it taken care of .....then back to my after-market pipes.
I heard Moker's pipes on the last run, they were loud but not obnoxiuos. Now Him on the other hand...LOL
Look forward to tomorrow

Darn - sounds like all you can do is keep and eye out and try and slide by... don't blip the throttle and lug by in a higher gear than normal keeping the throttle steady - definitely "getting on the gas" gets one noticed! when i roll into my neighborhood on the late side, i even try and coast into my garage...
Good luck!

Roadchick check around other indy type shops somebody can fab a simple baffle to fit in your pipes. Even if you take a 1 and a 1/4" washer welded on a bolt and drilled a hole on the back side of your pipes where you can put nut on the inside and outside to hold the washer in place would work. I've done that a few times and just that knocks down more noise than you would think. Plus it will give you more low end pull because it makes a little back pressure that unbaffled pipes don't have. There's a write up and picture on it somewhere on sportsters.org If i can find it i'll let you know. Anyway don't give up because what one shop says.

Are those WetDreamz pipes? If they are, they do make baffles for them.

If they aren't WD pipes, check out their site. I bet the WD baffles would fit in your pipes.

Thanks for the idea...:tour :tour

DIY: Large piece of cardboard with a hole in it. Make hole same size as exhaust tips and use 'painters' masking tape to cover any gaps; use razor blade/knife to trim tape on inside of tip so paint coverage will come out to the edge...

Or maybe you can, you know, get a six pack and coerce, uh, ask a friend to help... :laugh :laugh :laugh

Oh yeah - Bill is a wise man! It's also called a lollipop. Check this out for some info:
http://www.hdforums.com/m_79533/tm.htm

In part:
"To make this tunable mini-baffle scrounge a 1/4-20 x 1" thumb screw, or use a 3/4" OD washer welded to the top of a 1/4-20 x 1" screw. Next drill a slightly larger than 1/4” hole around an inch from the end of your drag pipes. Place a nut and lock washer on your new mini-baffle and slide the whole thing into the hole in your pipe, with the nut, lock washer, and thumbscrew flat or washer inside the pipe. Add another lock washer and nut to the outside, cinch it all down with the flat parallel with the length of the pipe. Of course, repeat for the other pipe! "

Any suggestions on what to say or do if I get pulled over for the loud pipes???

RC,
don't worry about the pipes. I've turned corners here in SD and gunned it several times with my V&H pipes barking and passed by cops (not intententially of course). One time I was pulling into my apartment complex and when I turned the corner I cracked the throttle and much to my dismay there was a cop sitting on the side of the street between two cars doing some paperwork!!! I even got a cold sweat. :doh In all cases the cop did not even look my way. They don't seem to mind noise from a Harley. I guess it just goes with the territory. I think as long as you are not tearing around a residential neighborhood late at night you won't have any problems.
Later,
W.
p.s. Can't wait to hear those things in person tomorrow!
