I aplologize if this has been covered but I am ignorant to the Blast model.
Does anyone know if the XL front cylinder, head, and piston will fit the 500 Blast?
What years?
Both 883 & 1200? (442 & 600).
I am considering getting a Blast as a commuter bike but I would like a little more info on parts interchangeability and availability.

883 parts will not work. Some 1200 parts will work but not all. Front heads need custom made brackets to bolt up as the Blast head has a soecial mounting tab on it that no other HD head has. Blast have a different stroke than 1200s. They have the same bore size as 1200s but the stroke is much shorter. that is why it is a 500 not a 600 even with the same bore size.

A few more questions...
1. Since it sounds like the whole mounting problem is in my..er the head, can an XL cylinder and piston be used with a ported Blast head?
2. Since the stroke on the Blast is shorter, is the cylinder shorter as well or does the piston sit farther down the hole with a domed piston to make up compression?
