I met it today...at roughly 85 indicated and higher...but not in the bars or the pegs..in the seat seems to be the main place where it might get annoying. Below 80 mph this bike is almost as smooth as any jap bike I have owned..maybe I am just numb. I notice more vibes when I ride without gloves, but only under part throttle and deceleration...kinda neat. Saw 110 indicated today without too much effort..might be able to coax another 5mph if I stayed in it longer and tucked down a bit more...topend is definitely not a harleys forte...apparently the new ones hit 117 ish stock..impressive.

When you get the main jet right and fine tuning done, your stage one 1200S should be able to pull relatively quickly up to the mid 120's. My 883/1200 will hit 126 mph plus in what feels like a heartbeat.

One problem..I am down 20 percent on HP from being at 6100 feet...the math is 3percent per 1000 feet..trust me you can feel it.

Thin air SUCKS! Man I feel for you. 80 hp would be like 64 hp? That would be rough! I'm at a 1000 feet and I'm making almost 77to 78 hp, that would give me over 80 hp at sea level??? I'm taking mine to the coast for a dyno run:) I've been tuning and tweaking for a while to break 80 and all I really had to do was ride it to the coast...I feel stupid :laugh
In all seriousness, I understand. On the positive side, all the other bikes up there are in the same situation. BTW, how did you end up with the tuning on your bike? Jets? etc?

On my FeHead i notice much more vibration when riding into the wind; what i notice is from rear piston hammering right up between my legs. It feels like there is something mechanically wrong with the rear end of the bike. Turn out of the wind and it is back to normal.

190 is stock??? I thought it was 165 for 883 and 170 for 1200. Is it because it's a 1200S?

The 1200S and international models have a 190 stock
