Vegas1200C 24th March 2008, 06:48 If you are talking about a real race you have to specify what the race is and whether or not both riders are equal. Stage one is not going to compare to a much larger engine if you are racing a quarter mile or longer. You should take him off the line but he will soon catch you and blow the doors off you. If you are racing an 1/8 mile you may get ahead enough to hold him off but now you are really just trying to find a race that you can win. Koot 24th March 2008, 06:55 so what about with the stage 1 completely done? Don't know about the Rocker in particular but my stock 74 cubic inch XL1200L isn't embarrased by a friends stock 96 cu inch Dyna Low Rider, but I think all things being equal that stock big twin is just a bit too big for the Sporty to take. Stage One should make a big difference though, until the BT does Stage One as well. I won't be finding out anyway because my friend is busy building the BT up to 103 cu inches. He wins. Just my opinion. Koot aka_Matt 26th March 2008, 04:18 with similar mods, the sporty should be faster... my friend had a wide glide with a 95" and 203 cam, and we were pretty even... langner91 26th March 2008, 04:28 How about faster over 1000 miles? I would ride that Rocker all day and not be as tired as I would be on a Sporty. Counterbalanced motor, sweet suspension. Yeah, I bet it could beat a Sporty to 1000 miles. Oh, stop light to stop light? Maybe not, but I bet it could surprise some folks there too. It only weighs a hundred pounds more than a custom Sporty. Put a light guy on a Rocker and a fat guy like me on the Sporty and it would be an eye-opener for all the guys who think big-twins are slow. Rascal 26th March 2008, 04:31 Traffic light to traffic light, I'd say the sportster would win. Anything farther, then the rocker. |
