supercharger

With the winter upon us I thought it was time to invest in a battery tender/charger. Last year I did not do this to my 4 wheeler and in the spring had a dead battery that needed replacement @ $60.00.
Now that the 4-wheeler has been replaced with a Harley with a much more expensive battery(looks to be about $100 at wal-mart) it was an investment that would pay off with a bike ready to ride come spring.
I chose the Shumacher Battery Companion. The main reason was that it was available at wally world and the clincher was its price : $17.44 :clap
It has all the bells and whistles of more expensive models such as float mode, polarity protection, quick disconnect clamps and a pigtail to install on the bike for quick connections. It appears to be a very well made product.
Installation of the pigtail came first. Attached red lead to positive battery terminal and attached black wire to ground lug on engine casting. The next part was figuring out where to zip tie the connector so that it was easy to get to yet easy to hide when not in use. Went through about 4 zip ties before I was happy.
I connected the device to my bike then plugged it in. It came up saying the battery was fully charged as it should have being I rode earlier in the day(froze by balls off too). Not wanting to take anything for granted I decided a test was in order. I disconnected the charger and with the engine off turned the hi beams on for about ten minutes. Reconnected the tender and now it read that it was charging. It took about 15-20 minutes to fully charge the battery. It seems to work well, comes with a two year warranty and is a deal at $17.44
I just went surfing to find a picture of this device to include in my review and really lucked in finding a battery maintainer comparison. It was done by our Goldwing riding brothers. I did not see this review prior to my purchase but it appears I made the right choice :tour
