Carina 26th December 2005, 18:55 Thanks for making that clear. So I guess I am in progress of paying the taxes!
racerwill 28th December 2005, 02:13 I asked a number of riders I know and many knew it meant to open up the intake and exhaust, no one knew why its refered to as "taxes paid"....
thanks again....

Snuffy 29th December 2005, 00:04 Big news for me. V & H shortshots staggered came in yesterday instead of 3rd week in January. TAXES are Paid. Shortshots are absolutely awsome. The sound and look is outstanding. They do though let you know that something besides stock is now attached to your bike. Can tell a big difference in throttle response. Am well pleased, and worth the bucks spent. Will post a pic in my gallery as soon as I get AJ cleaned up.
Spor-T-1 29th December 2005, 06:07 Hey can anyone give me some info on this part of the Taxes paid..."get rid of the 5,200 rev limit in the stock ignition"
Lynk 29th December 2005, 06:24 Yeah, Spor-T-1; that part means that you should upgrade your ignition module. Although, with a 2006, don't go to the SE ICM. I did, and it was a big mistake. Harley changed the main drive-gear in the 2006 Sportsters, which caused the speed sensor to interact with the ICM differently. If you go with 31759-04A, you'll wish you hadn't. (Speedometer will be off by 20%, too fast.)
So, save up the cash, and buy yourself a Twin-Tec TC88A, along with a cable. Then, you'll be able to calibrate the speedometer, and you'll be ready for any future upgrades. I was able to get a factory refurbished TC88A on eBay for $121, and I ordered the cable for $80 today. Check into it at http://www.daytona-twintec.com.
68B_Body 29th December 2005, 06:58 i wished they made those pipes for a 99...

mooperdee 12th January 2006, 23:55 So, how loud are the shortshots? They look awesome, but I hate really loud pipes.
Snuffy 13th January 2006, 05:17 They are loud but not offensive but I'm just a little biased. They are louder than my buddies SEII's softail. They are sweet sound'in at an idle and even sweeter at 75
kdarejr 16th February 2006, 15:31 just put on the drag pipes and the ness big sucker and adjusted the carb to 2 3/4 turns out !! runs smoother starts easier wack the wick and no flat spots but i did have to turn down the idle a little !! so now after i ride it a bit i will also read the plugs !! i was able to drill out the adjusting screw with out removing the carb !!! this site rocks !!!!

I sure am glad that was explained. I was about to go off on a tangent about how our motorcycle taxes went up by 300% this year. Ya'll would have never got me to shut up about it..LOL
