i was wondering what size slip ons from cycle shack people are using on their
04/05 1200 sporty's.
i have an 04 roadster thats still stock and want to get the cycle shack slip ons, but noticed they come in different sizes (1 3/4, 2" etc.)
what size should i be buying?
thanx in advance for any help you all can provide.

I think the 1 3/4 would be better for low end power. The 2in would be for high rpm power.

Anyone else?

Hi there.

You sure you aren't looking at the part numbers for the full pipes because those are the only ones that come in those sizes. Check this link, then click on replacement mufflers. I believe there are three different styles, such as baloney cut, slash, and tapered. http://www.cycle-shack.com/index2.html
I like the MXL130SS, they rock!

I like the bigger pipes, to me they sound better and the smaller pipes are louder, to loud for me. Just find a group or hang out at you local dealer on the weekend and listen to some pipes and find one that you like the sound of.

Xena's right, the slip-ons only come in one size (so they fit your stock head pipe). You just choose the style you want. I went with the taper because I liked the stock look. Of course, I then turned around and bought new pipes all together, but that's just because I'm simple and have a hard time making up my mind :frownthre .

Nice feature of the slash-cuts is you can remove the baffles. No can do with the turn-outs or taper-tips.

I have the 2" full system on order, it's been on order for about 2 months and I just got notice today that it shipped. I'll post some dyno sheets soon.

We have just purchased a new 05 1200 Custom and I was going to install a set of Harley slip on's and my salesman suggested the complete Cycle Shack exhaust system that used the factroy heat shealds from the stock system. To my supprize the price was the same.

We installed the Cycle Shack pipes in addition to a new breather and jet ket and this is one sweet running bike, and the sound is sooooooo gooooood!!!

You won't be dissapointed.

The slip on mufflers are nice but the complete exhaust is better. The SE slip on mufflers are made by Cycle Shack however, the dyno runs I have seen would indicate they don't produce as much horsepower or torque. I got my complete Cycle Shack system for $250 out the door. My friend has an 05 1200C and when he gets together with my 04 1200R you can really tell the difference.

For buying, try JireH cycles. I have not seen better prices anywhere. I don't know about the 04/05 slip-on prices, but I got my 00 slash cuts for $92.

Were those for an 03 three or earlier -- there seems to be a 50.oo surcharge for an 04 and later anything.

$119.95 is actually Jireh's real price (with shipping) for the Cycle Shack '04/'05 tapered(64-297) or baloney(64-298) slip ons. The turn-outs(64-299) are $129.95. Yes, they are good prices!

Called Jireh today to order slip-ons and they are out of stock. I guess they are popular. They were very nice and will call and let me know when they get some. I hope it is soon! Guy

There is something funny about those pictures on the Cycle Shack website. What is the deal with the brass rings where the slip-ons meet the pipes? Is that how they actually look when properly installed?

In the photos they are naked, without the heat shields. They use the stock heatshields because the headers have the same lenght and shape than the stock ones.
The heat shields cover the bronze rings muffler-headers connection and other header supports.
