View Full Version : Touring Sporty with fat front tire
Alasportster 25th December 2005, 03:40 Someone asked the other day about a Sporty with a wide front end and a fat front tire. I found a picture of just such an animal, and I wanted to post it here. FWIW, this is a pretty nice example of a touring Sporty.
Merry Christmas
Desertfox 25th December 2005, 04:10 Someone has posted a pic of that bike here before. I like the machine. A poor mans E-Glide? Oh well to each his own. He probably has enough money into it to have bought an E-Glide.

More of a poor mans Heritage except no softail.
There's a kit called a Fatster kit for doing just that.

That is a picture of my bike. I was not trying to make it look like an E-Glide, Softtail or a Fatboy. For your information I don't have enough money in it to have bought any of the listed bikes. I do have a lot of fun with it at different events. So called bikers have not a clue that it is a sportster. Here is what I have done to it. Have added Metzler WWW front and back new laced wheel on front. 1994 sportster 883 XLH bored to 1200 Weisco, fat bob tank,S&S super E carb and air cleaner, screaming eagle coil, oil cooler, air horn, balance master flywhell and belt drive, progrssive shocks, V & H streight shots, powder coated engine and cases,FL front end with light bar, dual disk brakes, floor boards, corbin solo seat, longhorn bars, custom paint, and 16" front tire.

cjburr 27th December 2005, 21:55 Yeller, is the bike the yellow one on the fatster website ?? I was unable to view the thumbnails in the first post. If it isn't could you post a pic I would love to see your bike. Thanks
Desertfox 27th December 2005, 21:57 Well, as I said , to each his own. From what you've listed, you definately have a bundle invested in it. And the only one who has to be happy with it is you.

Sweet Ride!
How hard was it to put the FL front end on, and what additional parts were needed. I sure would like to do something real simular to what you accomplished.

I have a feeling if the dude would have wanted a E-Glide he would have got one. Nobody gonna pull up next to him at a redlight on a clone bike E-Glide like every other joe has. Thats what a custom is all about!
VettesRule 1st January 2006, 04:07 Very cool and well done. Looks like a nice comfy ride.

benford46 1st January 2006, 05:23 Hey Yeller1200,
I saw your bike at the park in Gatesville at the"Spring Fling" rally. It is a very nice bike,my wife who knows quite a bit about bikes didn't recognize it as a Sportster. We are right down the road in Morgans Point.
Maybe we will see you at the next "Fling"
To the rest of the XLF crew this bike looks even nicer in person.
See Ya
