This cold weather and snow allows me the opportunity to start putting together my vision of what the sportster should be. Thought I'd share a few photos of the progress. I really work on a shoe string budget and can only get parts if I sell parts. Thank God for Ebay. The wide glide front end came off of a 00' Ultra, the 16' front wheel is off an 03' HD Heritage. I intend to relocate the coil and lift the tank about an inch in the front and would appreciate any advice on doing this. I'm also in the market for an 84'-99' front left brake caliper to trade for my 00' to present caliper. The rear tire will also be a white wall and I'll use a solo seat. Might end up with a black and white bobber look. I'll post more as it progresses.

I'm liking that wide front end and especially the wide front tire.
How hard was the R&R? Any issues to look out for?

Looking good. Nice way to pass the winter! what kind of front fender you using? That would look awesome with a big FL fender.

Thanks, I really enjoy walking out in the garage and the first thing I see is that fat white wall. Preacher, I'm not sure what R&R means. My guess is remove and replace. As far as the removal of the old stuff it's only bolts and wire connections. Installing the wide glide has been a slow go. First it was designed for use with a B/T internal fork stop. I just finished drilling and tapping my own fork stops in the lower tree. Next I've got to replace the brake caliper and finally I'll have to figure out wheel spacers. All stuff I've not done before. I probably watched to many biker build offs for my own good. I don't know about the fender yet, it all depends on the deal I come across and likely won't run a fender for awhile. Who knows it might end up with curb feelers (just kiddin').

I really like the XL Narrowglides, but that wide glide with that wide front wheel tells me otherwise. Nice job. I feel that huge fenders (like the FL mentioned above) take away from the sleek lines of an XL. My $.02
It's always a treat to have a lot of work space. The way my garage is going lately, my space is becomming more and more cramped by the day. I don't even have space for a Sears MC jack or something to prop the bike up on. If I did, I might be installing a springer fork right about now...

You can relocate the coil to just about anywhere you want. All you need to do is fab a bracket for it. I fabricated a bracket and bolted mine to the top motormount. If you need pics I will be glad to send them to ya. Just PM me. Also, for raising the tank an inch or so, that's pretty easy too. If you look at my gallery you will see my tanks been raised about 1-1.5". PM me if you want more info....
Looks good BTW... Keep us updated.
