I found this an interesting read and figured I'd share it.

There was an article in a past American Iron or Cycle where a guy had automobile tires on the back and front and showed pictures of him riding. Not me, but I don't see why not on the back if it would fit. Might take a little more to lean but don't know it I would want to trust the sidewalls in a twisty but on a big bagger maybe a lot different. Handling through the curves has to be different, especially with "squared" shoulders, even 300's are rounded

One of Joe's friends has a Valkyrie that he customized the hell out of and he has a car tire on the rear of it.

The Swedes are know for this. Coni from CCCP Choppers, in Switzerland, makes some beautiful Swedish Style Choppers. You can check them out at www.cccp.ch .

I'm not convinced. Those pictures show a tire he took off after 23,000 miles and it's wooped as hell, but he won't admit it. I refuse to believe it will handle well in the turns anyways. I'm looking at the one picture with the bike on a sidestand and there no way that "3/4" of the tread is in contact.

I've heard of this before, only on Valkaries and other big Hondas though. Is there a reason for this? Has anyone tried a car tire on thier Sportster or other Harley? I'd really like to know if it works. They would definately last longer.

Maybe the lessen here is that a big Honda is actually a car?

Coudln't have said it better myself. Maybe that's why the "dashboards" (what self-respecting motorcycle has a dashboard anyways)on the new Goldwings are obvious rip-offs from a Buick Skylark...
