Invoice said ordered on 11/29, but I ordered it 11/15. Asked about fact that credit card charged on 11/29 and was told that the group order form set this as the charge date. Definetly call them or email them about the status. That's what I had to do to get one shipped. Fred rider1951 18th January 2006, 00:30 I ordered mine early and received it just after the close of the sale. I would think you should be getting it soon. That was a few days ago. ritchdude 20th January 2006, 14:43 I called them yesterday and they said about 1 more week !!! sportyrider420 21st January 2006, 01:06 thanks for the reply's now i know it's just not me :) JohnT 21st January 2006, 01:29 I notice they charged everyone's credit card when the group buy closed, but only shipped a few they had on hand (basically a no-no in the credit card world—not supposed to charge until you ship). Must be a small outfit with cash flow issues. I emailed them in December and was told it would be 5 to 8 weeks. We're just about there now, so we'll see. Good thing they are a one-product company that's not looking for return/repeat customers. TheTick 21st January 2006, 03:03 Good thing they are a one-product company that's not looking for return/repeat customers. :roflblack :chtwo Turbota 21st January 2006, 03:17 Since this company is a sponsor here, maybe you folks could contact Bert and have him talk to the company personally. We certainly don't need sponsors on the XLForum with that kind of piss-poor service. I am kinda suprised that since they are a sponsor, they have not answered your questions right here in this thread. Had it been Trak-Tek or NRHS, they would be all over this thread. Who setup that group purchase anyway? I would be airing my 'dirty laundry' with that person. Just my opinion .... ZanexGt 21st January 2006, 03:40 I too have not yet received my superbrace. :/ broke 21st January 2006, 05:10 Mine was promised last week, never got it. Sent new email this week no response. Not happy misterwizard1 21st January 2006, 20:05 Received a reply yesterday. Polished will be shipped this Monday and the others a week later. SamIam 22nd January 2006, 13:24 got mine a week or two after the buy closed. black andonized, looks sharp. sb2005 23rd January 2006, 22:10 Good Afternoon, all remaining polished SuperBraces will ship UPS tomorrow, 1/24 and remaining hard black anodized braces will be shipped 1 week later. Group buy braces are usually shipped in 3-5 weeks after the end of the Group Buy. I apoligize for any delays caused for holidays. As far as billing goes, the credit cards are charged when the group ends to reserve your brace. This way the correct amount of braces are machined and thus passing the savings onto you. As a site sponsor, we check xlforum.net 2-3 times a week. You can either post your questions or email us directly at customer-service@superbrace.com (customer-service@superbrace.com)for a more immediate response. I wish if they didn't have them in stock they would say so on their web sight. Stringing customers along is not a way to build good will. First I ordered the fork brace from them . I asked if it fit the 21" wheel since the photo had it modeled on the 19". He assured me it would. When it did not , he told me he was going on second hand, anecdotal evidence he had heard from others. Didn't even know his own product well enough to give accurate information on it. I ended up sending it back and my money was promptly refunded. No sweat. I wonder how many other products of theirs are actually in stock, or are sold on margin ? TheTick 24th January 2006, 16:14 I asked if it fit the 21" wheel since the photo had it modeled on the 19". He assured me it would. In what way did it not fit? The brace goes over the fender and the fender is the same size on the 19" and 21" wheels. Just curious as my bike recently had a 21" wheel. Nevermind.... looks like you aren't talking about the Superbrace. cleger 24th January 2006, 16:22 Hi Guys, Desertfox, this isn't directed at you personally, but I'll take this opportunity to sort of lay out how we manage our inventory, etc. If by "margin" you mean stock levels, then it varies by product. We try to keep adequate levels of vaious products to cover us for the duration of a typical order cycle. In other words, if it usually takes 5 days for us to get replacement product, then we stock the amount of product (or slightly more) necessary to fill the orders we anticipate receiving in 5 days. If you mean profit margin, then yes, our profit margins are dreadfully slim! :frownthre If it says on our web site that we stock something, then we do. Our stock room is full of handlebars, fiberglass body parts, fork braces, brake parts, suspension pieces, rims & spokes, etc. An example of somethign we don't stock would be chain drive parts, since the sprockets are all made to order, and there are too many permutations for us to keep everything on hand (we do have chains though.) The sprocket manufacturers are pretty quick, so it's reasonable to rely on them to fill orders as they come in. Some products that are manufactured exclusively for us, or to our own spec, we buy in large quantities. Fork braces and RamFlo air cleaners fall into this category, as it happens. For the shops to tool up for a run of our custom stuff, there is a rather steep slope of quantity discounts applied, and it makes sense for us (and our customers) that we buy lots of them. The problem we ran into this time was that it usually takes about a week for us to get replacement RamFlos. We ordered a batch, back on 11/28 when we had about 20 left. We were sold out a little more than a week later. Meanwhile (I am starting to suspect) the US distributor did not enter that order with the manufacturer until some time afterward(?) and notified us on 12/22 that our batch was not going to be produced until after Jan 6. However, we'd been running a sale on them since Dec 1st! There is a rather large shipment of RamFlos on the way here, and close to half of them are already earmarked to ship to end-users. Thus we'll be re-ordering shortly, with increased lead-time. We ran into a similar problem lately with certain of our suspension pieces. Ordinarily the parts are available in sufficient quantity to cover us under any circumstances, but recently, this has not proven to be the case. We can't get these parts in anywhere near fast enough to keep up with demand. None of this stuff is made to order... we have to wait for the manufacturers to produce the parts according to their own production schedule, get them to our distributors, who in turn get them to us. Meanwhile, we have fairly large stock of shocks on hand, but we and our distributors sold out of certain sizes some time ago. Fork springs are similarly non-existent in the supply chain right now, despite what anyone might tell you, apart from springs that a given retailer might have on his shelf. Lead times and business practices of our suppliers and manufacturers change and evolve over time. And those things don't always follow market forces (like demand) as much as we'd like. Recent experience with suspension pieces, and guidance from the manfacturer, is driving our distributors (and us too) to deepen our inventory levels. It really is our intention to stock what we sell. Pretty much anyone who ordered a RamFlo over the past year, right up until early Decemeber, would tell you they had it in their hands in less than a week. Not being able to ship RamFlo units over the past month has been pretty painful for us, and obviously for some of our customers too. It's not our intention to string anyone along. We would much (much) prefer to cancel an order than to have an unhappy customer out there in the world. If you want to cancel, and then be notified when we're ready to ship, let's do that. Best regards, Desertfox 24th January 2006, 16:24 In what way did it not fit? The brace goes over the fender and the fender is the same size on the 19" and 21" wheels. Just curious as my bike recently had a 21" wheel. That is true, however the brace hugs very close to the tire. It would not reach the bolt holes on the fork legs without touching the tire. Not even close. cleger 24th January 2006, 16:28 In what way did it not fit? The brace goes over the fender and the fender is the same size on the 19" and 21" wheels. We've sold quite a few to customers with 21" wheels, but as I told Desertfox in an email, it's possible that those customers elongated the mounting holes or something. We don't have a bike with a 21" wheel to try them on... like he said, I was relying on reports from customers.
