Don't know how long these have been out, but I just noticed them on the H-D site: Five new two-up seats for the '04 and later XL, plus one new solo seat. They're all pretty high-end (leather only, it appears), but they all look great.

I really like the minimal styling of the the Brawler solo and the Stripper two-up. I've seen seats like this for the pre-'04, but these are the first ones I've seen for the newer XLs.

New seats... (http://www.harley-davidson.com/browse/browse_subcategories.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=253 4374302290483&bmUID=1106770520801&bmLocale=en_US)

I like the rear directional kit with the red led in the mount.

i like the look of some of those seats, I wonder if they are more comfortable than stock, they really dont try and sell you on that point it seems. I just ordered a mustang seat yesterday, and I still dont think I would do it different, but I did like the lines on some of those seats.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't the Brawler the only seat available for the 04 and up. All other solo seats say they fit 83-03.

The Brawler seat is $299 and looks about as comfortable as the Marquis de Sade. The Mustang traditional solo is $179 and feels like a million bucks.... Just my two cents.

Its hard to believe how uncomfortable the stock seat solo really is, has anyone kept theirs on? I bought the sundowner- pretty good, way better.

I think people keep them on, until they find a forum like this and hear about the aftermarket seats :tour

i've noticed that the solo seats without any kind of pillion for 04 and up don't screw down with the fact screw.so how do the solo seats screw down.do i have to drill another hole and tap it? sorry if this is stupid, but i really don't know.

I just bought the solo reach and am flying off the back of the bike when I gas it. Still searchin' for that right seat. I was thinking of going down to Corbin and getting one of those "molded to your butt" seats.

There are actually 2 holes in the rear fender. I'm sure you know of the rear on where the 2-up seats mount. There's another one further forward that has a plug in it. All you have to do is swap the plug with the threaded insert.

Jay, my seat raises you up at least 1/2". This is what I was looking for as I am long-legged. If you want a lower riding position, this seat is not for you. :frownone

the insert is held in the hole with a c clip, just pop off the plastic cover and move the female end to the new hole.
real easy.
the brawler reminds me of the lepera barebones LT for the same sporties, but twice as expensive cuz of the leather...
marquis de sade lol now thats a good description

Harley does not use high quality/density foam in their seats. IMHO, it is not worth the price, if you wanted a low profile seat you should look at corbin or la pera seats, they use good foam.

The Harley Seats are okay. But , for the money the Mustang is the best. I do have a Sundownder seat for the 04' and 05' Sportster. Like new! A lot better than stock. A good 200 mile a day seat. Lots of padding for the passinger. Not asking much. Jay-Impala-man
