I drained the engine oil and primary fluid. Also took off the oil filter so I could get to that crappy little oil pressure sending unit thing and removed it.
I also cleaned up all the gasket surfaces on the crankcase and heads.
In anticipation of the non engine parts coming in, I took a good look at how the wiring is run for the turn signals, as well as pulled the throttle and idle cables out.
Rejetted the carb as well. Don't tell nobody, but I bought a Screamin' Eagle carb top today as well. :shhhh And put that on.
And lastly, I slid the fork tubes a CH more than a half inch up in the triple tree. Hopefully this will lower the front end just enough so that I don't have to keep looking at fork lowering kits.
Depending on what time I get home from work tomorrow, I'd like to get the clutch and brake line changed, as well as install the turn signal relocation kit.
Friday, I get off around 1 or so. I'd like to get started on the engine build then and work on it through the weekend. In a perfect world, I'll get everything done by Sunday afternoon and have it running.
We shall see...
Tomorrow, everything I've ordered is scheduled to arrive via UPS. He's gonna hate me tomorrow. :D Not to mention my next door neighbor is doing a similiar project with a quad and has parts coming in left and right as well.
