I just bought my wife a 2000 Blast. I find it grinds alot going into 2nd gear. I changed the oil to Mobil 20w-50 V Twin but found no difference. Is this normal for this bike?

Not sure whats up with your bike, sorry.

But I'll tell you what, this site has an unbelievable amount of knowledge and Don't be discouraged because your question wasn't answered yet. Someone will chime in just give it time.

I assume that it only does it going into second. Does it do it on both upshifting and downshifting? Are you sure your clutch is fully disengaging? Maybe just for testing purposes try holding the clutch in a little longer before shifting. I would definately have your dealer look at it if it is under warranty.If it was bought used someone may have munched second gear.
