View Full Version : Your favorite Two-up seat (comfort)

Hey everybody,

I would like to get a new seat for comfortable two-up riding. My scoot is an '04 883XL that has basically been turned into a custom. So the Custom 2up has been installed with the larger tank, speedo housing, blah blah blah.
I have installed an HD detachable sissy (low) for Peg's comfort and saftey, but the Custom 2up just isn't making nice with her tooshie. I like the look of the current seat and would like to get something with additional comfort for Peg, but would rather not give up the sleek line. Don't want a big ole pillow back. I have also installed Progressive 412's & fork springs recently and these are a significant improvement over stock, but still not enough. Whatcha got for me? All responses are welcome.
Thanks.

Peace,

Darrin

Mustang Wide Vintage Solo and Passenger Pad.... The pad comes off when you wanna fly solo, and goes back on to make things comfy for the wife (or GF,SO, whatever)

Mucho comfort for long hauls.

My wife really likes the H-D Sundowner on our bike (she can ride all day on it), but it might be too pillow-looking for you.

Will this fit with the larger custom tank?

Yes, as I put the 4.5 gal tank on my Roadster. They make one for the 3.3 gal and one for the 4.5 gal. tank

I have the same one, very comfortable and I remove the pillion as well when solo. Just put the fender bib on and it looks great.

I really like my HD custom seat, (not Custom stock seat) I looked at the touring seat too big for my ride. This one is the step down. Nice lil lip on back keeps me seated when i hit the throttle. I usally keep my Corbin Holly Solo on. Except when I long travle

Another vote for the Sundowner here... 200+ mile days 2-up, no problem!

I vote for the Mustang. I have a Wide Vintage Sport Touring saddle for my '01 but that style isn't exactly available for the rubber mounts. Rider's portion is 14" wide, passenger portion is 11" wide.

The Mustang costs more because it's built better. Pan is steel, not plastic. Steel gives better support and won't deform around frame rails or fender.

The heavy vinyl is riveted to the pan, not stapled. The way it should be.

My girlfriend and I do 400+ mile days 2-up on the seat. Sometimes those rides include dirt roads. Lots of 'em. I have done one 1100 mile day, and a bunch of 500-600 mile days on the seat.

Until Rick Mayer starts making seats for Sportsters, the Mustang is the best choice for touring. As a matter of fact, when my Mustang gets old enough to need a rebuild, I just might contact some of the custom LD seat manufacturers to see if they would build me a custom seat on the Mustang pan. Now THAT'S a thought...

I'm very satisfied my the sundower also, I had the pillow top touring on when the bike was new and got sick of it real quick.

Corbin dual touring here. Can't beat it for comfort, plus you can quickly install a backrest for yourself and passenger. Been on all day trips with no complaints. A stock sissy bar will not work with this seat.

Mustang Regal wide touring.
I do a lot of 600+ days on it and it's great!

I'll add my vote for the Mustang Vintage Wide Super Touring. I saw (felt) a huge difference when I went to that seat and my wife is much more comfortable.
