I just purchased a fat bob tank with a dash. My question is on the 6 post fat bob switch, how do I hook it up correctly. Which wire goes where.
It's a 97 xl1200 BTW and it's black if that helps.
Thank you

There are three terminals with three wires on your current switch. WHen the switch is in the OFF position none of the wires are connected. When it's in the ACC position the Red and Red/Yellow wires are connected, but the Red/Black wire is still disconnected. When the switch is in the IGN position, all three of the wires are connected together.
I think your best bet is to get out an ohm meter and measure for conductivity between the terminals of your new switch to figure out what you want. Just find the proper pattern that emulates the current connections.
I have a question for you... are you leaving the existing key switch in the circuit somewhere so that not any Joe can hop on and start up your bike?

Gary that was the answer I needed. Many thanks.
I bought the switch with the lock, and I always lock the forks when I'm not on it.
