Was looking through the S&S catalog and found the new Stage 1 kit. Curious to know there is anyone using it yet?

Their slip ons are good.........we've fitted a few of 'em here to big twins and we'll probably fit a set to a customers sporty shortly....
They work well.... better n SE11s

March issue of American Iron mentions these, in Donny Petersen's Techline, as well stating they're better than SEII or Cycle Shacks (same baffles). Just how much better I'd like to see on a dyno. Their baffle designs, SE CS vs KW, are quite different from one another in anycase.

Can you describe what the S&S baffles look like? Are they standard 'cheese grater' style? Do they look like a Cycle Shack/SE design? Are they straight through perforated cores like a Porker? Thanks.

I have that KW H-P plus and S&S ac set up. I really like the sound. Doesn't sound loud at idle but wakes you up when you twist the grip.

Yes I've done the same engine setup on my XL1200C.
I've put Dynojet kit with stock spring, 3mm enlarged slide hoose, 170 main with the Dynojet provided emulsion tube, 45 pilot jet with 2,5turns air screew.
Teardrop S&S style AC with foam filter (searching for a K&N).
Slash cut Cycle Shack with partially closed baffles for beter low/mid end torque.
I think the S&S teardrop is one of the best AC systems. Simple, small, good efficiency.
Maybe some people consider it ugly, lots consider it old, common, already seen and too much diffused, not distinctive.
I consider performance/look compromise shifting versus performance.

G'day They're different to everything else I've seen.
They have 4 sections that project into the pipe... sorta like a cloverleaf
I'll take a pic if I remember..
Have a look on the S&S website.. they may show a pic..
