Three weeks ago I took my Sporty for a day trip into the mountains riding with a stock seat. When I got home (160 miles later) I immediately ordered a replacement seat. My wife had already complained about the ride on the stock seat and I knew that if I was that uncomfortable after 160 miles, my butt would never be able to survive the kind of traveling I WANT to do with the bike.

I ordered a Mustang Vintage Wide Super Touring Seat. It showed up a couple days later and I've enjoyed it for the short trips around town but hadn't had the chance to really test it out. Today I did a group ride with the local HOG chapter (60 bikes or so) into the mountains to the same location that I had ridden three weeks earlier. I came home using a slightly different route and ended up putting on 200 miles for the day. Wow, what a difference a seat makes! I could easily do another couple hundred miles today and not be complaining. The Mustang seat was worth every penny I paid for it.

I also have a mustang seat solo with a back rest. The back rest lays down then after you swing your leg over just flip it back up. It also has adjustments for height and width or closeness to your back That seat will take me further than I want to go. I love it and highly recommend it.

I noticed that you had your seat for sale, and I just ordered one. Why are you selling it?

It really came down to fit. The seat is incredibly comfortable but I didn't like that it brought me forward a little and, for me at least, the raised rear section pressed into my lower back at an annoying spot. I found I was always fidgeting a bit on long rides. I'm pretty tall and have forward controls and having the seat bring me further forward felt awkward. Too bad because I really liked the seat. I think it was just the way it fit my body that didn't work out.

Markd1, do you still have the seat? Will it fit an 06 1200c with 4.5 gallon tank?

He hasn't been on the Forum since the beginning of December 2006, so I guess he's not likely to see that.
