Well, here's some pictures of my recent adventure. I flew to Detroit to buy my '95 Buell S2 (converted to an S2T) and rode it home. I'm actually not home yet as I'm in my hometown for all day today and I'll finish the trip tomorrow to Amarillo, but I've booked 1400 miles so far and I'm another 200 from my house. I have a lot of really nice pics, but I'll save you the scenery shots. A couple quick notes - the bike hasn't been washed yet, the helmet and the chaps are borrowed, the duct tape on the chaps was a reply to a weak zipper, and two of the photos have been altered by my friend Zak (just the lighting). Here they are.

The night I bought the bike:

A few taken on either highway 63 or I44 I can't remember:

AWESOME - just AWESOME!

Always loved the tuber-Buells...

Matter of fact, I'm so jealous I will refrain from giving you crap about the flamed chaps (borrowed or not).

Besides, Duct Tape ROCKS

RIDE SAFE and enjoy!

Thanks for sharing too

welcome to the dark side!!! I think you will find that an S2 is on of the best bikes ever made!! Buell actuall lost about $1,000 on each S2 they sold. HD wanted a bike available no matter the cost!!

Some info on the bike...
Bike has 22,xxx miles on it (after the 1400 I just put on it), It has been converted to a T model, which means 1" lowered footpegs, tall clipons (but these are custom billet ones instead of '96 OEMs), hardbags, and lowers. The bike has a works performance rear shock ($$$), D&D slip-on and Hurricane backing plate with K&N filter. The seller threw in a custom-fit cover, battery tender, and rainsuit. And I paid $2900!!! Oh and it has PM wheels too.

Phelan,

It's beautiful!

Congratulations on getting one of the finest motorcycles ever made in America. Top shelf components. Love those PM wheels. Priceless. Looks like someone took good care of that particular machine.

If I could only have one motorcycle, it's a toss up between my Ducati SS and the S2. I let my S2 go, but only to a good friend who I know well enough to know that he won't part it out and will give it the care and attention it deserves. Plus, if I want to buy it back the option is one the table for the right $$.

So how was the ride and how did you like the ride???:tour

It rides great other than my numb right hand. One draw back is that one of the previous owners used cheapass bicycle grips in place of real grips so there's a lot of vibration in the bars. That'll be the first thing I change, thought I'm difinitely not gonna use the BILLET grips on the sporty:p! Also I'm not too sure about the taller bars. I think I would be more comfortable with the original hieght bars. I love the lowers and the bags though.

Exactly what I was thinking! Man, that's awesome. Good lookin' bike. And I actually kinda like the flamed chaps...

As much as I like the new Buells, I'd take your bike over them any day.
Congratulations! :clap

I'm glad to see the backpack made the rest of the trip strapped around the bags.

Thanks Derek, most of the time I sat just slightly on the front of the bag where it was empty and not only held the bag on but sucked up the extra room on the seat for a better ride too. Thanks again for your hospitality.
