...to Joe Minton!
I have followed Joe's writings for a long time and have a tremendous respect for the man and his opinions. He KNOWS carburetors. His oft quoted response to the question of how to jet for Stage I printed in American Rider noted that all that is needed is to change the jet needle to the HD 29074-88 and back out the mixture 1/2-1 1/2 turns.
Not wanting go right back into my new bike, I slapped a #44 pilot jet in while I was installing the EZ-Just mixture screw and the above jet needle. No farts.
All was good. Mixture screw wasn't really responding to changes, but she was idling just fine and...no farts! Just go ride! But I was curious(around here that usually involves picking up tools :D)
Well, I put the stock #42 back in and backed out the mixture 2 1/2 turns. Still no farts, plus response feels crisper.
Damn...I wasted $3!!!
