I just spent a lovely several hours in the workshop, starting the process of reassembly of Delilah. Over several cups of coffee and some good music, it dawned on me just how much I have done over this LONG winter, but more importantly, just how much of this change was directly influenced by forum threads and the wisdom, wit, insight, experience, and considered advice of our members.

I visited my dealer yesterday to pick up some long-ago ordered parts and described the changes to the bike and he said: "My, how creative you are." I had to reply that almost none of these ideas were mine but, rather, a collection from things I wanted to do and a huge inventory of ideas obtained from a sometime strange and very eclectic group of people with many passions in life, foremost among them, the Sportster.

I wonder if we truly realize just what a resource we have here...??? If I haven't said "thanks" for your warmth and friendship for these months since I started lurking in October, then "thanks" and I hope we ride together for many more years.

:clap :clap

I still remember back in 93 when I first bought my beloved sporty in April. Many changes later and I am finally where I want to be with my bike.(atleast this week) I wish this resource had been available 12 years ago because I would have saved a lot in the school of hard knocks. I have spent bags of money and don't regret it a bit. This is the place to get good advice and make educated decisions. We have all learned that we are heavily oppinionated here and there are strong ties to dif. schools of thought and directions of bike customizing. I hope everyone gets as much pleasure as I do. That said, its back to the hidden wiring and the new headlight and bars in the garage. I think I will make a new seat also. They just don't make the one I see on my bike. I am ready for this challenge. Hey Doc., does mean you got your tins back or you have seen the end product yet? Remember, beauty takes time.
