i am currently experiencing charging problems on my 2000 M2 Cyclone. my battery wont stayed charged, a problem i blame on the alternator/generator/stator (I'm not sure of the proper terminology) i am a relatively competent mechanic but im not familiar with motorcycles. i checked the voltage on the battery and it read around 12.2 volts while not running, after i started the bike the voltage dropped of to 11 volts. my question is... what part do i need to replace to remedy this situation?

Your battery with only 12.2 volts is in a slight discharged mode, put a good charger on it to bring it up to specs and you know that it should not charge over 2 amps
do it right and try it again
