For those of you who do not know, Bubba Blackwell holds many world motorcycle jumping records and has broken many of Evel Knievel's records. Most of his records were made on a (you gusssed it!!!) a Sportster XR 750.

He is now sponsered by Buell and goes around the world doing stunt and jumping shows.

Here is an excerpt from his biography:

"At the age of eight, Bubba Blackwell, of Bon Secour, Alabama (the town noted in the film Forrest Gump), saw Evel Knievel on TV for the very first time. From that moment on, BUBBA knew what he wanted to be when he grew up—a daredevil. Eager to start, he devised a jump on his bicycle for the neighborhood kids jumping a line of garbage cans while his Dad looked on. When his Mom came home, his Dad said, "Don't bother going in, we're fixin' to go to the hospital," BLACKWELL recalls. He added, " I made that jump, which I think kinda surprised Dad. I think he was planning I would miss and never do it again."

Bubba rocks. Cool stuff. :clap

I've always loved the look of the XR 750. Something about it just screams "all business".

I saw Bubba lst month in Foley, AL. It was a come back jump over 15 chevy trucks. It was realy cool. He does about 30 minutes of stunt riding before his jumps then spends time signing autographs. He had 2 Buell X9's, a Blast, a stock Dyna, and his 750 he jumps with.
The stunt portion was great with burn-outs, including one through all 5 gears and blowing the tire, and lots of wheelies, including those done on the stock Dyna. If you ever get the chance to see him go!
It was a lot of fun.
The event was combined with HOG WARS biker games between Pensacola H-D H.O.G. and Mobile Bay H-D H.O.G. We (Mobile Bay H.O.G.) took home the first annual trophy winning three out of four games.
Bubba is planning to make it an annual event.
There were not enough sporties there or at anything I've been to. I am starting to feel left out.

IT'S OFFICIAL - BUBBA BLACKWELL WILL PERFORM DEATH
DEFYING MOTORCYLE STUNT ON OCTOBER 4th AT DEEP SOUTH
SPEEDWAY

LOXLEY, ALABAMA (August 11, 2008) Motorcyle jumper
and world-record setting stunt artist Bubba Blackwell
made it official today with his announcement to
attempt an unheard of jump of forty-two cars in an
event scheduled to be held at Deep South Speedway on
Saturday October 4th. Blackwell, known across the
nation as 'The American DareDevil' made his intentions
known in front of gathered media members and
television cameras during a special called press
conference today in Mobile.

When asked about the chosen number of cars, Blackwell
pointed out that everything has a specific reason in
the upcoming record-breaking attempted.

'I'll celebrate my 42nd birthday on October 4th and
the numbers just all seem to add up to what the fans
will see in my jump,' said Blackwell at the media
event held at Mobile Bay Harley-Davidson on Monday.
'I've broken forty-two bones in my body in my career;
and I set a prior record of twenty cars in the past.
My bad crash happened as I tried to jump twenty-two
cars, so adding those two jumps together my intent is
to give all the folks in my home region something to
really remember - a forty-two car jump in style.'

Blackwell, who hails from Bon Secour, Alabama, has
pushed the envelope in the past with his numerous
record jumps, but vows this is a whole new game.

'I'll be doing this jump in an effort to set a mark in
history that no one will be able to equal. I'll be
aboard a true American-made Harley-Davidson, my XR-750
so this is not an act on some little dirt bike. It's
the real deal and it will happen on Saturday night
October 4th right here in Lower Alabama at Deep South
Speedway.'

Complete event details and ticketing information will
be available on the official web site of Deep South
Speedway, deepsouthspeedway dot com and at
bubbablackwell dot com.

'You will not want to miss this night,' concluded
Blackwell as he addressed the media. 'This is gonna be
a career night and best of all, I'm gonna celebrate
this feat with family and friends from right here in
the Baldwin County area where I grew up. It will
certainly be a night that will be remebered for a long
time.'

I met him a couple of weeks ago in Gettysburg. One of the nicest people I ever met. I do have some quicktime movies of my day with Bubba. Perhaps I will try to post them here.
