I'm heading to NC for a week in April, to ride the wonderful roads around the Smokies.

I'm looking for a bag to haul enough stuff for a week. I already have some room with saddlebags and a Kuryakyn clamshell bag. This is my current setup.

I'm female, so I do require lots of room for lots of crap. I need a bag to attach to the sissy bar/sit on the passenger seat.
I'd like something to lean against. The first day is a 441 mile interstate butt torture-fest.

There are lots of different makes and styles out there, and it makes it hard to pick the wheat from the chaff, so I'd like some real world advice from people who have actually travelled with their bags to see what they like and disliked about them.

Thanks all!

I have a Carroll bag (somewhat like a T-bag) and it worked great. The SO packed all of her crap in that and both saddlebags, and I packed all my stuff in my fork/tool bag.:roflblack Seriously though, we were only gone 3 days and we didn't even touch half the amount of room that we had. I got the bag from J&P for like $80 I believe.

Hi Eva. Check out Tour Master. They have a good variety of T-bag type stuff, at better prices than T-Bag. My wife Laura & I both have them on our Sporties. They will sit on your rear seat if your riding solo, might even be useful as a back rest.

I have so many setups, its stupid...

I have throwovers, dress saddlebags, a t-bag and a full size leather touring rig (straps to the bitch bar, and sits on the seat, OR on the rack)...

I can never make up my mind.. :laugh

Check out bags by a company called Nelson-Rigg. They work great and are a lot cheaper than most if you buy them through www.discountcycleparts.com
their site with pics of the bags is www.nelsonrigg.com

I have several of the Nelson-Rigg bags and am impressed with all of them. I purchased the T-Bag small roll bag that was mentioned in one of our postings...nice, but not close to the Nelson-Rigg version. At least, IMHO, lol! Nelson-Rigg has a tail/seat bag that clips to several models of their throwover saddlebags...making a nice modular setup.

The N-R stuff is very reasonable as well, pricewise.

I have the H-D tour luggage set up, it came with a large T Bag type bag and a smaller 'roll' bag, which can be strapped to the top of the larger bag or used on its own. Works very well and is pretty comfy to lean against.

A decent sized bag, sitting on the passenger seat will hold all you need for at least a week. Unless or course you are taking an evening gown. In which case, please post a picture here.

This is how I pack for the last couple road trips of 5days or more. Nelson Rigg exp200 expandable bag that works great as a back rest. Also a tank bag sometimes. Ive only had one 510 miles day, I wouldnt want to do that again just do to the fact you get burned out.

H-D roller bag sitting on passenger pillion and slides over the back rest.

H=D rack bag on rack behind back rest. (I'd go with another brand - this one started sagging.)

H=D saddlebags by SAC - I am going to get larger bags. They are OK, but I need more oil, parts, rain gear, storage.

I have a Nelson-Riggs CTB-900. It works pretty good but does put a lot of weight up high.
