Is it necessary to lube the cam lobes and lifter rollers with moly lube for break in?
I usually futz around with chevy V8's with flat tappets and moly-lube is a necessity.
How 'bout with roller cams?
I'll be installing my new cams this weekend (hopefully)...

Rollers don't have the problems flat tappet lifters do. Just put engine oil on the lobes of the cams and your done. No need for that 20 minute 2,000 rpm breakin after the first start either .... just drive it and don't worry about what rpm your at.

There is no wear-in pattern with roller lifters. Another reason that [no] lifter change is needed when you change cams in a roller lifter motor.
