Someone posted this on the V2 Forum...

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

1 to move it to the Lighting section

2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section

7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

5 to flame the spell checkers

3 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ...
another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid

2 "industry professionals" to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 "know-it-alls" who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

21 to start a small "off-topic" cliquey sub-conversation about switches

3 to post example JPGs of different light bulbs

7 to post URL's where one can see more examples of different light bulbs

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

3 to post links to FF, shocked at the fact that their light bulbs were orange.

2 to start other threads about your top 20 best/worst light bulbs of all time

1 to post a Photoshopped light bulb picture in a compromising position

1 to accuse some posters of starting a light bulb clique

2 to quote someone and just add a one word or single smiley reply.

11 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, just to add "Me too", or "What he/she said"

5 to post to the thread that they will no longer post, and will be leaving the forum because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

1 to break forum rules by posting a link to an illegal bulb download site.

1 to break forum rules by calling somebody a bawbag for saying that Osram were the best bulbs

2 to fall out over screw-in or bayonet fixings

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

13 to say "do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs", or "already covered last week, mate"

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again

1 to take it all seriously and go on a rant about how a light bulb changed their life.

Fluorescents more efficient, yet Halogens are brighter but much hotter and need a wider gap from flamable materials. On the other hand...I've always been attracted to red lights!

hey, is there a conversion from75w to 150w. i hear its the same as a real 150wIf you hit a bulb on the side just right it will "super nova" (the term we used in college dorms) and be about four times brighter. It won't last as long but it's real bright for a few hours.

1 "old school tough guy" to say, "Lightbulbs? I remember back when we used to use magnesium lamps. You're not using REAL lighting if you're using electricity". :)

Can't you just use duct tape to fix one so you don't have to change it?
Let's start another thread on that! I'm in the dark now.

Ah man, seriously... if your bulb has gone dim you really should change it. A few months ago things were just not right for me. I didn't realize there was a problem at first but the bruised toes and bumps on the head as I didn't quite clear the door frames was really beginning to depress me. I wasn't eating as well because I didn't want to move from where I was. The TV was stuck on channels with infomercials because... yes you guessed it I couldn't locate the remote and I surely wasn't going to risk moving from the couch. The only good thing was I couldn't really make out what I had started to look like in a mirror... let's just say it wasn't a pretty picture. Then a friend intervened and insisted that I change my faulty bulbs. Now I'm not saying it was easy to live with at first. My eyes burned like crazy... I could hardly keep them open. But slowly things began to clear up. It was amazing!! My fears were going away because I could just see things clearly. After I cleaned up all the messes I had let my life get into things are so wonderful now. So take from me. I'm born again and life is tremendous. If you're feeling lost and afraid to move, CHANGE YOUR BULBS!!! :hipg
