RedRider 31st January 2005, 19:43 Just wanted to pass the word that Pep Boys has motorcycle jacks on sale now. I picked one up yesterday. They are the Torin Big Red brand, and seem to be pretty nice quality.
They are normally $58.99, currently marked down to $54.99, plus an additional $10.00 mail-in rebate. Final cost is $44.99 + tax.
Before you ask, I am not associated with Pep Boys in any way.... ;) Just passing along a good price for anyone interested.

klamen 2nd February 2005, 20:50 What's the quality of the PepBoys model? Fittage to the bike frame ok?
RedRider 2nd February 2005, 21:47 Quality of the jack looks good. I just picked mine up the other day & haven't had a chance to try it on the bike yet. I think they are all pretty much built on the same blueprint, so it shouldn't be an issue.
dave 24th February 2005, 19:52 I have the Pep Boys lift, and it works just fine. I had to cut off the little wire handle (used to help roll it around?) so it wouldn't hit the jiffy stand as I slid it under the bike. I also wish the lift rails were longer - they don't stick out far enough to install straps in the provided loops at the end of the rails. Mechanically though, it is well made and operates very well.
I have not figured out how to lift Lilybeth (2004 1200C) with the jiffy stand in the "up" postition - if I try that, one of the rails touches it and it has to take some of the weight (I think I damaged my jiffy stand spring doing this).
xena 7th March 2005, 01:12 I never saw this thread before, but today I just bought this bike jack at Pep Boys. The cashier said she thought there was a rebate, but she looked it up and said nay. Oh well. 57.00 after tax is fine with me. Good deal, nice lift, oh and it's rated at a 1500lb max capacity too. I was going to take a pic of it, but it looks just like the sears craftsman bike lift cept' this one is all red instead of black and red.
mountbkr 7th March 2005, 01:38 I guess I really didn't know Jack till I read this post
what a deal
bamf_shadow 7th March 2005, 02:51 I got the MAL2-C jack from www.motorcyclejacks.com . It has 4 tie down locations, auto stops, nice casters, pull handle, and 2 stabilizing arms so you don''t have to worry about front to back rocking. It is a little more expensive, but it is definately worth it.
Chip 7th March 2005, 04:52 Quite a few stores have those bike lifts for sale for under $60. They are a great deal for the price. I could use one but don't have the room for it right now.
vetteguy 12th March 2005, 01:08 I bought one from Pep Boys and just saw the same one in JC Whitney catalog for over $100. What a joke. Guy
CROW 17th March 2005, 03:08 Does any one have a picture of the PEP BOY stand? I would have to drive 100 miles to a pep boys. Lowes has one for $89 is it worth the drive to pep boys?
Thanks
CROW
xena 17th March 2005, 03:19 Here's (http://www.shoplocal.com/shoplocal/default.aspx?action=detailbroadreach&pretailerid=-99798&listingid=-2097240402&ref=%2fshoplocal%2fdefault.aspx%3faction%3dbrowseb roadreachbrand%26brandid%3d-2099988618%26justsetzone%3dy) a link to a pic and description of it. The lift is nice. I had my bike on it overnight on the weekend. Bike is lowered 1" front and rear and the lift still works fine.
dmraco 17th March 2005, 03:41 pep boys, $59 with a $10 rebate. Not bad. Nice lift.
CROW 17th March 2005, 20:56 Thanks, A co-worker is going to be near PepBoys this weekend and is going to pick me one up.
