DM-SC 21st February 2006, 01:35 Oh yeah! Coming along nicely! :smoke Finksies 21st February 2006, 01:55 I hope to have it done for spring or summer. I still have alot of work to do on it. I live away at college during the week so I have to bust my ass working on it on the weekend. I got a new sparto tail light comming in to go on my flat fender. I hope to have the fender struts made and the fender mounted. Maybe the oil tank on. 73chopxlch 21st February 2006, 03:14 It's looking good! IronMick 21st February 2006, 03:28 Nice project, man. Was it hard to put on and line up? Mike 9fingerkustomz 22nd February 2006, 05:39 Fender and rigid in cam in, got it on the bike today what do u think. Still losts of grinding and welding to be done but you get the idea. Bike is coming along great! Looks good with that tank on there too. Mike, they are not all that hard to attach the rear section. YOu have 4 bolts to allign at the bottom then just cut away what you don't need up top. I see that Finksies did the same thing that I did, add additional bracing (actually gusset the hell out of) the tie in section at the back bone and grind down the rear supports flush to give more seat movement. Keep the pics coming Finksies!! Pat Finksies 22nd February 2006, 06:39 Its pretty easy to put on. U deff need a sawzall, pleanty on grinding wheels, and some thick sheet metal. Ill get some new pick up this weekend. Finksies 27th February 2006, 03:10 bracket made on angle iron for the fender, and I bet some round bar for the struts. http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/6105/harley279hq.jpg hawaiian 28th February 2006, 05:57 nice bike! Finksies 4th March 2006, 22:48 I finally got the fender on and the struts mounted today. Finished off covering the frame, Tomorrow Im gunna finished the seat pan & try to get the stock oil tank to fit. Heres some pics. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/7739/picture0051xm.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3361/picture0067gi.jpg http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/6130/picture0076av.jpg http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/9539/picture0082ws.jpg Fork 5th March 2006, 03:25 Its lookin really good!!! mulisha-mike 9th March 2006, 04:03 looking killer so far! Good job! Just started my hard tail on my 77. Keep us posted! Finksies 13th March 2006, 04:50 I finished the seat today, and it came out pretty good. I ended up using 2 types of foam and just glued it all together. The Cover was cut out by me and stiched by my lovely mother. Its held on with pop-rivits. I got my new Vintage style grips on, and I decided to invert the handlebars to give it a lower ride. I ran some hollow tubing on the inside of the rear fender to keep the wires out of harms way.The last thing I have to do Is to make an oil tank, Im still trying to get my hands on some 5" Round tube. I tried to get the stock oil tank to fit, But I think its just going to contain too much chopping and welding to get it to fit with no chance of chain rubbing. Once the oil tank is on I finally get to take it out for a quick spin before I paint it. I've decied on painting my tank like the front of A frying tiger air plane from WWII. and doing the back fender chrome. Ill try to get some pics up tomorrow, cause my digi camera broke today. Finksies 28th March 2006, 16:30 I stripped all the paint off the gastank this weekend witha wire wheel, and got it down to baremetal, It came out looking pretty good. I send the back fender and gastank to one of my buddies. He is going to paint a bomber style theme on the tank with a big sharkmouth and eyes on the front like a flying tiger plane. I ended up decided to try to make a new oiltank out of aluminum. Its going to be a retangular box, I already have all the new fitting and rubber tubing. I cut all the sides out of 1/4 aircraft grade aluminum. Its gunna be 5"x5"x11". Ive never really seen an oiltank like this one so hofully it looks alright. I reloacted the batterybox to under seat so They oiltank can strech across the frame and made some modes to it so it would look better. The brown seatcover material didnt look good so Im making a new one out of dull black vinyal. I got a new camera, so I take some pics of the seat foam before I recover the seat. hopefully I make some serious progress this week, wish me luck. megaman 10th April 2006, 16:30 Hey Fink, rad bike dude it's coming along nicely...
