THe ign sensor plug that connest the sensor plate to the IGN module...how do you disconnect it?
I tried pulling it apart, but no dice. i didn't want to risk ripping the wires out. HD manual just says "Disconnect the plug"
this is the one thing that prevented me from fully removing my cam cover today.

not sure about that year mines a 96 I had to follow the wire from the sensor thru the cam cover where it came out near the bottom of the frame and follow it to the Deusch plug connector and take that apart to discounect it from the bike.If this don't help maybe the BUMP!:bump might.good luck

Hi Engine.

Ok, I think I see what the problem is.
This plugs get a bit stiff with age. Try soaking it with WD-40 and then push it together then press the tab (Lock Bar) and then pull it apart.

Then you will need to remove the wires from the connector shell(Yes, there is a special tool for this), be sure to draw the wires as to placement before you remove them.
