I did a search and came up empty, I'm trying to install a X1 headlight on my sporty. The headlight has two bulbs inside the housing with four wires running to them, 1) black, 1) yellow, 1) white, and 1) orange with a white stripe. I know that the black is my ground, the orange striped wire goes to the smaller lamp and the white and yellow both go to the larger lamp.......
but how do I hook them up:doh??

Thanks for your time and help,
LD

Hmmm... I'm not really sure since the sportster has only one bulb... Um, you may have to do some more wiring... but someone has to have done or tried this already...
good luck...

Does It have a high beam indicator ???

I'm not sure........what exactly is a high beam indicator?? The small bulb is positioned just below the main (larger) bulb in the housing.

A little blue dot that lights up when the high beam is on ! that little bulb has got me wondering if you even need to hook it up ???

Ya I got one of those......I relocated it to the self in my garage. Right now I'm running no speedometer or instument lights. I would like to hook up the small lamp as well as the main lamp. If I can't figure out what it does & how to hook it up I guess I will do with out it :frownthre

Is the large bulb dual-filament?

On some modern cycle headlights they use separate bulbs for low beam and high beam -

ALSO, depending upon the configuration sometimes the low beam remains ON during high beam operation in these set-ups.

Lastly, European bikes usually have a parking lot - which literally can be turned on when the bike is parked at night to help keep it visible, this can be a separate low-voltage circuit to the low-beam OR it can sometimes be a smaller bulb mounted in the main housing.

Not sure which your's is....

O.K. I finally figured out what the small bulb is for.......It's a position indicator bulb. I guess it serves two purposes 1) if your headlight goes out it will give you some light output, and 2) it acts kinda like a parking lamp?? I was told that they are used alot in Japan and in Europe.

Thanks to all that have posted I really appreciate all your help and input,
