I have 05 883C that I'd like to install a tach on.I'd like to install the tach/speedo in it's present location, which is below the handlebars. The only thing I can find is tach kit 67359-96B.The only problem is H-D says this kit only fits to 03 models. It also looks like you just can't buy the housing and install a 05 compatiable tach.Does anyone know why this kit won't work on an 05.Any suggestions on something that will work.TIA.

Dan,
The '04 started using a digital signal from the ECM to tell speed, rpm, distance, etc. I was in the same boat as you. I wanted a Tach but dont like the stuff above the bars. So I decided to design one myself.
I currently have a prototype that tells me everything and shows rpm, via LED bar display and speed via an LCD display. I am finishing up the PCB to support all the standard functions plus some extras to fit right where the existing speedo is. No wiring, just plug and go.
When I get a working phase2 prototype I will post some pictures.
